McConaugheysBooger
I've had my '17 MKZ for right at one year, and I've just noticed my heels have been digging into the cabin floor carpet near the gas pedal. Of course it had to be right above where the floor mat is so I have a white spot where its been rubbed out. Does anyone know if there's a product made for this? My previous two vehicles took several years before my heels dug a hole in the fabric. Women have been driving with heels for years I gotta believe there is a solution for this? Side hope: is there any way to repair that without replacing the whole cabin bottom?
fusionff
The easiest solution would be to buy some all weather mats that cover the affected area. The OEM carpet mats are far from perfect IMO. A picture of the area would help us offer specific solutions. Check this recent thread on the All Weather Mats subject. I am having trouble trying to figure out what area your heels would be digging into near the gas pedal, that would not be covered by the floor mat. As far as products, you can try an automotive carpet cleaner and a soft brush to see if you can pick the fibers back up. You can also try Googling "cleaning and repairing automotive carpets" for hints. Let us know how you make out and good luck. Chris109
Without a picture it's hard to understand what he's talking about, but I'm thinking someone may be using a rear mat for the driver side front so he may be digging right into the carpet and bypassing the floor mat cause it's moving around. Just a guess. Edited March 5, 2020 by Chris109
MKZMark
I drove my last vehicle for 12 years and 260K, and my right heel wore a hole through the mat and then through the carpet under the mat.

Hi MKZ. Please, if you get close to wearing a hole through your MKZ's mat, promise us you will get a new mat before it actually gets to the carpet underneath. Otherwise you will cause many of us a great deal of pain. ?? Good luck. ? Edited March 8, 2020 by bbf2530 KenZ

drolds1
Just more cost cutting. I remember when cars came. With a vinyl heel pad attached to the carpet in front of the gas pedal. R2D2

Probably around the 200K mark. Now it wouldn't have gone 260K and have no motor or trans issues if it wasn't serviced religiously. Just didn't care for the cosmetics as much, washed and waxed it yearly whether it needed it or not. ?
TomV
I’d recommend Husky Floor Liners. Better overage than Weather Tech, they got complacent. scn101 and RAB
scn101
I agree that Husky Floor liners are very nice. I placed them in my Fusion and am contemplating a set for the MKZ. I'm not worried about snow and slush where I live so I ended up cutting holes in the driver's side Husky liner to allow the factory floor mat retainers to protrude high enough to allow the factory carpeted floor mat to still attach and anchor down. Looked better, IMHO, than just the rubber look of the liner. Also placed the passenger carpet mat over the Husky but without an anchor, the carpet mat did move around whenever a passenger exited the vehicle, no big deal really. MKZMark
We put the Lincoln ones in our MKX and they work well, they also have the logo on them so they look good. Less expensive than Weathertech.

jimflutes
Cocomats.com , Makes a custom driver side mat for the mkz 2013 - 2016 , this has a heavy duty rubber heel plate . The one he made for my 2016 extends up behind the brake petal for full coverage . If you want one call them and tell them your year and that you want the full coverage mats , they have a lot of good quality materials to choose from and are friendly to deal with . Good luck ! scn101
Decided to put a set of the Husky mats in the MKZ just like I had in the Fusion. Definitely better overall protection. Cut the driver side Husky mats anchors out to allow the factory mats to snap right in. The Husky mats fit better in the MKZ than they did in the Fusion (the part numbers were different for each). The Husky 2017-2019 MKZ p/n is 98791. Edited March 17, 2020 by scn101
