jcsmoothnyc
Hi all I have had my 2012 mkz awd for 3 months now and just wanted to know if anyone else feels the steering wheel road vibration nothing like shaking the wheel more like just road vibration from the pavement. I have had my wheels balanced and my alignment is good too taking it in to lincoln tomorrow I have oem wheels 9000 miles on it and Michelin energy tires it's quiet cabin no wheel noise . Any ideas Thanks for your help
Rusty Boltz
The low profile tires transmit more "road feel" than I like for a luxury car, but I've become accustomed to it. It makes for better handling.
jcsmoothnyc
Thank you I was thinking that too in my mind I'm thinking lincoln like my pops town car but this vehicle doesn't ride exactly like a lincoln I am still going to ask the dealer to check it for me . I really appreciate your input I think I just need to get used to it .
Cliffh44
Same with mine. However, it does seem more prevalent in the am when I first start driving then seems to dissipate after I've driven it a few miles.

jcsmoothnyc
Ok at dealer went for a test drive with tech he says this car has a stiffer suspension and they tend to ride like this he was going to check it out for me though , going to update the sync software too it acts up from time to time . I am thinking I just need to get used to this road feel
4N1M4L
You probably have the sport package like me. I personally love the suspension, because the thing doesn't roll when cornering.
robertlane
You probably have the sport package like me. I personally love the suspension, because the thing doesn't roll when cornering. That suspension and larger tires will cause a "different" and tighter ride, but shouldn't cause vibrations in the typical sense. My wife's parents bought a car with the larger tires and they had to change them out.
JoeBrown
My last Lincoln the 2000 LS had 16" wheels. The new MKZ has 19" and I don't really notice much of a difference in the ride. I use the "normal" setting not the Sport.
Michael Katz
JC your problem is the rear driveshaft. My 2010 MKZ is doing the same exact thing--like a bad u-joint and it goes away if you drive for a long distance. The original shaft has frozen u-joints and will need to be replaced. There is an aftermarket unit available that is two pieces rather than three like the original. Just google drive shaft vibration on mkz and you will get many responses. The dealers were playing dumb as they all know about this problem. Hope this helps.

Michael Katz
Gerry it is the rear drive shaft--a common problem on the AWD cars. Google it and you will see what I mean.
