MyAerith Posted January 5, 2020 Share Posted January 5, 2020 Hi I have a 13' MKZh which i bought preowned in late 17' with 50k miles. .As title suggests the sunshade for the rear window is stuck in the erect position and will not collapse. Prior to this I've use the sunshade very little with no issue. Now when I press the sunshade button I can hear the motor whining but the shade will not budge. I tried manually pressing down on it with some force but it won't give. I haven't been able to find a answer anywhere. Just curious if anyone has any insight on this. However, since I use mine a lot at night, I was going to ask if there is any maintenance that should be done to them, but I would probably be accused of complaining. No specified maintenance that I am aware of. Perhaps lubricate the hinged arm joint with a dry lubricant. Wouldn't hurt to ask your Service Department next time you have your car in for service.
