Normal? Hi Mopar_dude. What engine is your 2017 MKZ equipped with? Any warning lights? A certain amount of torque steer is to be expected/"normal" in a front wheel drive vehicle. Especially under "full throttle". And the more powerful the engine, the more the likely torque steer. Torque steer can also be exacerbated by a car being out of alignment, worn or uneven tires, etc. When was your last alignment" How are your tires? However, torque steer should be noticeably less in an AWD vehicle such as yours. It is difficult to determine over the Internet how much torque steer you are actually experiencing and whether it is abnormal or not. Is your car still within the 4 year/50,000 mile Bumper to Bumper and/or the 6 year/60,000 mile Powertain Warranty? If yes, make an appointment for service, demonstrate the problem to the Service Department, and let them properly diagnose and correct any problems. Let us know how you make out and good luck. Mopar_dude
Thanks for the reply, It's the 3.0t still under warranty. It's at the dealer now for other stuff but I had mentioned it to them. I'll see when I get it back if it's the same or not. If so, maybe I'll post a video if it's possible on here. Hopefully they will get it diagnosed and corrected in one try. One bit of advice in the future: If you did not this time, ask for a Tech to take a ride with you. It is always best when you can demonstrate a problem instead of only describing it. It is always better if you can directly show them, instead of having them take it out alone later, drive it differently than you, then come back with the dreaded "could not duplicate the customers concern". A video could certainly help, especially if you show it to the Service Advisor and/or Tech. Let us know how you make out and good luck. They already called me yesterday to followup on what's been done on my Lincs and what's left to do. They said for the 1-2 hard shift they can't duplicate, so I'll have to see if they can duplicate what I'm telling them for the steering if not I may have to show them myself for both. I'm definitely not new to the whole "cannot duplicate what customer says" lol ?
