I just purchased a 2020 MKZ, black with monochromatic package. Not crazy with the all black appearance, but it was about all that I could find with the 3.0 I like some chrome to make it pop Hi bnewtr. I'm sure Devin will post back and answer, but thought I would give you some help in the meantime: De-chroming generally does not involve removing and replacing the chrome pieces with painted ones, it means painting/PlastiDipping/etc, the chrome pieces you already have to whatever color you want. So he would not have chrome trim to sell/offer. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to "chrome" your monochrome pieces, so you would need to purchase the pieces and completely replace them on your MKZ. Good luck. DeviLSh
What he said^! I had everything covered in gloss black vinyl. It was actually the monochrome package car that inspired me to do so! haha so funny how taste is relative, but I agree, on a black car, one can go too far and the car starts to get a bit muted. Hence why I left the grill/mirrors/door handles. I paid $450 to have the work done from a shop near me, took him a half day. I did get all the part #'s for the monochrome parts but it ended up being about the same after shipping and I didn't want to deal with removing/installing. I can always "go back" if I choose this way too, without removing panels or pieces.

DeviLSh
Hey everyone, hope all is well. Wanted to update here that I am looking into selling this car. Found out we are expecting our first little one! So we are exploring new options for the fleet at home. I will likely keep the LS as my project car, but already sold my Audi S4 project (no engine) and am thinking of replacing the MKZ with something else. We picked up a Jaguar XF Sport brake recently to replace the S4 and it is incredible! This is a want vs need thing at the moment, so I am only listing it here and maybe the ford fusion sport forum to start. Not in any sort of absolute need to sell position, but thought maybe someone here would want this, or know of someone looking for 400+hp for $25k in the understated and beautiful car like the MKZ. I just did about $600 worth of maintenance on this car. Full detail, rotation, oil change using ecoboost amsoil and motorcraft filters, brake fluid flush/bleed, cabin air, and motorcraft plugs. I have put about 13,000 miles on the car since owning it, and have spent maybe about $7k in mods. So whoever gets this will get all that for the price I paid about 16months ago. Still has CPO coverage and I am the second owner. Thread is in the classifieds.
DeviLSh
What do you all think of the summer wheels combined with the blacked-out trim? Im loving the look. Car is for sale! Stock/Spare Related Parts, included with sale. (wheel is unused extra/spare 5th, no rubber) Edited May 7, 2021 by DeviLSh Robert Iggy Cerami
Zondedo
Why are you making all of these modifications and then selling the car? Most people, including me, prefer the stock unmolested look. It’s your car and you can do whatever you want to it. Maybe you should keep it?
DeviLSh
I see your point, if you knew me personally it would likely make more sense. Its what I do pretty much haha. I enjoy taking cars from stock to oem+ and then I start to look for something new and do it all over again. for me its about the project/transformation/personalization journey. In this case though, we are looking into different options with a baby on the way and After getting our Jag I am really in love with them Im well aware the majority of buyers prefer stock, especially the typical MKZ buyer. But I am used to selling modified cars and am perfectly content dealing with that niche market. If I need to bring this car closer to stock I can, but a lot of people getting into the 3.0tt's now are after the performance and will do most of these mods anyway. If this doesn't sell, no big deal - i love the car but would humor an opportunity for the next project.
DeviLSh
Checking back in here after a few months. Baby came 5/30, MKZ sold in late July (Dealer bought it back), I sold off most mods and parts from it - and we got the replacement. After extended seat time in our XF-S Sportbrake, and my love for the DEW98 chassis, I decided to get a car that will combine the best of both worlds and also scratch my recent itch for a V8. Found the car in California and had it shipped out to us, came back and was able to get it next to the old MKZ on the lot for a picture of the two of them. Say bye to the MKZ and hello to our new car, a '15 XFR-S in Polaris White. 550hp/500tq, 5.0L s/c V8. This car is an absolute brute/blast. The new stable! drolds1
Congrats on the baby and the Jag(s), Devin. I have an enduring appreciation for the DEW98 as well. I still miss my LSes, although a 3.0T MKZ is good for the soul.?
02LincLS
Nice ride Devin! Hope you and the family/baby are well. I'm sure you've looked into turning up the wick already. Do those wake up the same as the tuned 3.0T does? No, I still haven't installed the H&R's but I will get to it soon! Drolds, what year(s) LS did you have? I terribly miss my LS as well, my neighbor recently got rid of it so I don't even see it drive by anymore. It was a silver birch '02 with staggered Jag Vulcans and a 125 progressive shot of nitrous. Handling was that car's mojo, especially lowered, and it lived to 300K miles even with trips to NE dragway. I had many parts in my basement to convert to what is now Devin's limited slip diff. The MKZ is the other way around with lots of power but so so handling; hopefully the springs remedy some of that. and his intercooler now lives on in my MKZ DeviLSh

Loved 'em all. You're right about the handling. I would occasionally get under the car just to admire the suspension components. 02LincLS
JimF
Just upgraded the FMIC on my MKZ with the UP FMIC, along with few other minor mods, for an HPDE track day with the local Porsche Club. Devin's posts detailing his install were a tremendous help. However, I now have a constant "hood ajar" warning and light. Any thoughts on a possible direction to look at to correct the warning? Turns out a "hood ajar" warning also disables remote lock/unlock and remote start. On a side note, after upgrading my MKZ with the aforementioned UP FMIC, along with 255/40 P Zeros on OZ Racing 19X8.5 rims, EBC brake rotors with EBC Yellowstuff brake pads, and a strut tower brace, I was able to keep up with (and occasionally pass) various Porsches during a recent HPDE track day. Got a lot of comments along the lines of "You're taking THAT on the track??" and "Let me guess... massaging seats?" See the tail end of his 12/10/19 post in this thread on page 1... " Final note - watch when reinstalling the grill shutters as there is some wiring by the passenger side headlight that can get pinched. after install I noticed my hood ajar light is on, and the hood is definitely shut... so I think i need to double check the wiring and see if something got accidentally cut." He never said what it was, but most likely it was a missed harness somewhere since there's 8 million of them on this car. I too did the Garrett core intercooler and this car had 10X the harnesses compared to my '14 fusion titanium. I never got a hood ajar light, but I did miss 2 harnesses for the lower led strips. At least it was easily fixed, but that's what I get for trying to finish at night.
