Scott
Hi All, I have an ongoing issue with a strange noise from the passenger side rear door. I have had it into the dealer a couple of times, but it comes and goes to where they have not been able to track it down. It seems to be temperature driven, I guess in the range of 70 to 80 degrees, and often can be heard with the engine running at around 3K RPM. We have also heard it quite a bit while doing interstate or highway driving - 70-75 MPH. Does anyone else have this issue/noise? I have checked around the inside of the door and the outside and have not found anything obvious. Thoughts?

Sounds are hard enough to diagnose hands-on, let alone over the Internet, but I'll offer one possibility. Is it a low frequency sound/vibration? Here is a possibility: Sounds like it could possibly be the harmonic resonance problem. Very common with today's extremely aerodynamic intensive vehicles. It is caused by driving with only one or both front windows down and usually begins at ~50 mph and above. Doing so creates high pressure wave areas around the car and in the passenger compartment. The faster you go, the worse it gets to the point that it can be extremely uncomfortable. If this is the cause of your problem, the solution is simple. Make sure that anytime you open a front window (and will be doing near-highway speeds), you also open a back window at least 2" or so. Preferably both if possible. This may not be the cause of your problem, but it is worth checking. Keep us updated and good luck. Scott
Yep, I know that sound quite well. But, this is not what it is. The windows were all up. The biggest problem is finding a time when it is happening to get to the dealer right away so they can diagnose the issue.

Hope you can find the cause and a solution. Keep us updated and good luck.
TomV
I heard a rattle the other day from mine. Going slow over rough surfaces... sounded like something was rubbing due to chassis flex or as if the door wasn't full closed. I took a quick look, but didn't see anything either. I'll keep an eye on it.
Scott
I haven't heard mine now for quite a few days. They did replace the front passenger side door panel, and I found several of the push pins loose on the trunk panel cover. Not sure if that had anything to do with it or not. Might be more relate to our temps cooling way down.
Scott
Of course, the same day I post that I haven't heard the noise, it was back yesterday afternoon.?
