It was so bad that it affected the entire Consumer Reports rating (based on the car owners' own reports) and no doubt hurt sales. If it's not working, who's fault was it? The lawyers that wrote and/or approved a deal with a subcontractor? In-house engineers? It certainly wasn't because of car buyers sending too small a check to pay for the car.
