hjski Posted July 17, 2019 Share Posted July 17, 2019 My 2011 MKZ hybrid stopped beeping when I back up. I tried to listen close to all the sensors but I am not hearing anything. I think it maybe the actual speaker as before it stopped working there was a crackle coming from the back. Is there any easy way to check this speaker and an easy way to replace it? drolds1 Posted July 19, 2019 Share Posted July 19, 2019 The air bag replacement had nothing to do with this. The speaker is in the rear bulkhead. You can't hear anything from the sensors either. They're radar sensors. The crackling means the speaker has failed. This is not uncommon in first-gen Fusions/MKZs. It's a bit of a job to replace the speaker, but not all that difficult.
