CBiard
Hello, I currently drive a 2012 MKZ (FWD non hybrid) and I'm interested in getting some better performance. I know the current generation MKZ makes 400 HP with a 3.0L V6, so I'm thinking if it's possible to add twin turbos to the 2012's 3.5L V6, I should be able to hit a similar HP mark and probably be pretty satisfied. Does anyone have experience with modifications like this on this car? I'm new to modification, and I'm not sure where to start. Thank you! Well, as they say, almost anything "can" be done with enough time, money, work, sweat and pain. However, it is really not a feasible project, even for an experienced shop, let alone a do-it-your selfer. You are essentially talking about creating your own 3.5L Ecoboost engine. That is the same engine as in the Taurus SHO (a larger car with a larger engine bay). And that engine does not fit in the 2012 MKZ engine bay. If you could get it to fit and work, you would be the first to do it.
CBiard
Thank you for the reply. Maybe a turbo isn't feasible, but what about other performance parts? Cold air intake, performance intake manifold, performance cams etc.? Edited July 1, 2019 by CBiard etc
