Harbinger
May 15th was my wedding anniversary, I wanted to surprise the wife with a new car. I spent two solid weeks on Cars.com looking at Hyundai Sonatas calling salesmen and test driving. I finally settled on the Ruby Red one and bought it and the wife was thoroughly surprised, I was a hero. Now, Facebook and Cars.com must talk to each other because the day after our anniversary the most beautiful car I had ever seen was posted to my timeline by Cars.com because Facebook thought it was something I might be interested in. Two weeks later, I was driving my new MKZ Tuxedo Black.

michaelinokc
Welcome to the forum and post us some pics of that MKZ. :)
Harbinger
Two days after I brought it home... I hit one of these, it was kicked up by the car in the next lane. This isn't the one that hit me, it's just for reference. Edited June 6, 2014 by Harbinger
drolds1
Ouch! Sorry. :( Those things are a serious road hazard.
Rusty Boltz
That happened to me too, but not with my MKZ.

jmactenn
Wow, That really is bad luck. But you can get fixed like new again.

Harbinger
I have now been in the "loaner' longer than I got to drive the MKZ. :(
SteveB_TX
What kind of loaner did you get? Hopefully not a GM product! ;) How long do they say it is going to take to fix your baby?

Actually, it's a BMW 335i with a convertible hard top. It's my nice day car, calling it a 'loaner' is a joke between my wife and I. I'll post pics when I leave for lunch. The MKZ was supposed to be finished this past Tuesday... now, it's "hopefully by the end of the week." SteveB_TX
oooOOOooo I almost... ALMOST... bought one of those (soft top version) in 2005. Went with the new Mustang GT drop top instead. Don't ya just love the "hopefully by" thing? ;)
Harbinger
I got it back last night!!! While wiping off a few fingerprints, I noticed a flaw in the paint :( it's going to have to go back.
SteveB_TX
I hope it's not a Lincoln Certified body shop! :(
Harbinger
I hope it's not a Lincoln Certified body shop! :( It's not, it's a Geico approved body shop inside a Chevy dealer. I dropped it off Tuesday with no discussion of a finish date, I told them that I didn't want to sound like an ass but that I wanted it perfect. They apologized profusely for the mistakes and promised to get it right. Yesterday the "Production Manager" called to tell me that the headlight needed to be replaced but, the new one wouldn't be there until nexg Wednesday! I reiterated my position of keep it until it's perfect, he thanked me for my patients and assured me it would be.
