fusionff
You parked it all wrong. Next time closer to the curb on the left, and leave more room on the right for the morons door to swing out. dwonder, Izzy3906 and R2D2
MKZMark
It was a good meal, wedge salad and NY strip steak. No door dings. The beltline of this car is so high I can never tell how close I'm parked to anything.

MKZMark
The Z is 33 months old with 35K now, looks and drives like new and no issues. It has a stone ding on the hood and a scrape on the rear that I plan to get fixed. I still enjoy every drive, and with working from home in Covid times I don't drive it enough! MKZMark
My acquaintance's Nautilus was rear-ended last July and nearly totalled, and after repairs were completed the center touchscreen went dead, so it's back in the shop (the white MKZ is her service loaner). The dealer service rep told her the warranty on the touchscreen was voided by the crash. Needless to say she is pissed and is escalating the issue. Has anyone ever heard of this? I'm not sure who did the crash repair.
bbf2530
Hi MKZ. Well, it is a tough one to figure out over the Internet. The inoperative SYNC screen would be something impossible not to notice. Did your friend report it to the repair shop immediately? Common sense would dictate that if the touch screen worked when the vehicle was brought to the shop that performed the collision work, and stopped working when they performed the collision work, then it would seem to be the responsibility of the collision repair shop and the covering insurance company. On the other hand, a collision and collision repair does not necessarily "void" a vehicle warranty (unless the vehicle is declared a "total"). Very little does. A collision and collision repair would not even necessarily mean any particular warranty claim should be denied, unless it can be directly tied to the actual collision and/or repairs. For example, something like rear taillights, rear camera or rear parking sensors not working after a rear end collision could be expected to not be repaired under warranty, if the repair work was performed by another shop and not a Lincoln/Dealer. That would obviously be the responsibility of the collision repair shop that performed the work. It will not hurt to escalate the issue and try and have it repaired under warranty by Lincoln. However, if the screen did not work immediately after the repair work, then it may be the responsibility of the collision repair shop and covering insurance company to fix this. And Lincoln could be within their rights to deny warranty coverage. But as previously stated, this can not be decided over the Internet by people who do not have all the details. Keep us updated and good luck. Edited September 15, 2020 by bbf2530
MKZMark
Makes sense. I didn't ask her how long between the crash repair and the screen going dead.
