I got the usual 6 months Sirius Select deal for $30, he said he couldn't do the $60 for the year offer.

  • Him: How about 5 months for $35? ------- Me: No.
  • Him: How about 6 months for $35? ------- Me: No.
  • Him: Since you've been such a loyal customer, I can offer you 6 months for $30.  Is that good? ------ Me: Yeah, ok.

Hi fusionff.  Too bad you could not get that 3 years for $99 offer. I wonder if it ever was an actual offer?

Thanks for posting back with your results.

I read about that 3 years/$99 offer online.

I guess that you can't really believe everything posted on the interwebs.  t2418.gif

I am lucky that I have a few really good HD Radio stations (WNEW HD-2 is one) in my area. I have satellite radio but don't really "need" it for music.

HD radio really is great sounding. I'm on the outskirts of Philly reception but when I can get it it sounds miles better than Sirius.

I can't even listen to Sirius music anymore since getting the Revel system.

I agree with you guys on Sirius quality, it's pretty low overall, with some channels compressed more than other channels, but none sound really good.  I mainly listen to my music on my Ipod Touch, which sounds awesome on most of my music.  Some  live performances that I've downloaded almost make me feel like I'm there at the concert, and I do crank it up.  That's probably why I have a blown speaker s0539.gif in my passenger door, new one is on order by the dealer, waiting on it due to a delay in delivery.

But sometimes I just want to hear something other than my own music, and the FM selection (HD channels too) here is a joke, which I really can't understand being that I have NYC radio stations here.  So once in a while i go to Sirius for some tunage, and since it's cheap I'll likely keep a subscription.  s0565.gif

  • 1 year later...

I had Sirius/XM subscription for 3+ years but got tired of bad audio quality when driving in wind/hot/bit rough interstate highways.  Finally called an cancelled.  Now I download podcasts on USB stick and play high quality audio anywhere anytime.

I use Mozilla Thunderbird to add podcast rss feeds and simply download it on stick weekly or when going out of town. Bit manual process but can't beat it.

I don't have the revel system, just the old old 9 speaker whatever that they had in 2012, but I bought the car for winter driving originally.  I use the USB stick system, which gives me awesome sounding music, and only what I want to hear with no extras, no cutouts and always great sound.  Sirius here in Canada is hellish expensive.  I have two cars, a truck and two motorcycles, which all have SiriusXM radio capability, and to equip them all would be about $300 a year, and that is with all the deals for use on multi vehicles.  After each six month trial per vehicle for the ones that got that promo, I almost had to change my email address, name, telephone number and address to get them to stop calling with "deals" that were not deals.

Oh, and the car turned out to be such a nice driver that I drove it all summer as well.  Nice cars these Lincoln MKZs.

And yes, I realize that this is a revival of a 2019 thread.

Great feedbacks here.  These are all from personal MKZ experiences.

Based on my recent experience with Sirius/XM enabled rentals.  All sounded much better then my default MKZ audio system on XM channels.  It's just not quality base audio setup on MKZ.

If you have Android Auto, you can add stations to AA.  I use the TuneIn app and get a bunch of stations.  Some are commercial free internet radio.  Just gotta search.  Just do not do it while driving.  Been there, done that.  BIG mistake.
