bbf2530
Hi all. The SiriusXM 6 month trial on my 2018 MKZ is about to end, and I was wondering if anyone has any information on public offers better than the current 1 year/$60, Select package offer? If you do and wouldn't mind sharing, would you post a link here? Thanks for reading and good luck.
fusionff
The best offers are usually 5 months for $25, or 6 months for $30. I've never seen the full year for $60 offer, but I see now that they are coming to their senses and offering the yearly deal at $5 per month. I renewed with the 6 months/$30 deal in September (Select Package), and remember that these are Promotional Deals, meaning don't forget to call them and cancel right before it's about to expire. But you probably already know the deal about cancelling. Edited November 29, 2018 by fusionff

Yes, it seems after some research that the 1 year/$60 offer is the best around right now, so I will sign up for that. They had another offer, which was ~$8.xx a month All Access and a free Echo Dot, but I only need the service for my car and don't need an Echo Dot. Thank you for helping and good luck. ? Chris109
Of course, you could always do the "I just bought the car" and get 3 months free. Change your name and email. I did that on my '13 for 9 months. Got the original 3 months free cause I just bought the car. When the promo was up, changed my name and email address. Told them I bought the car from my roomie. Then, after 3 months, told them I bought it back and used my real name and email. If you want free, you could always do that. Just keep 'selling' your car. Taurus
I've used their service for 3 years and finally cancelled this year. Since I don't have time to call every 3-6 month, I negotiated an annual deal. I would call just one day before the end of my annual term and I would press an option to cancel the service. After you've been transferred to the retention department tell them that you would like to cancel your service. They will give you a deal. You might decline the first deal and see if they could offer you a better one. Since I'm in Canada, my best deal was $113/yr including all fees, taxes (13%) and online access. I didn't care about sport but I had Howard Stern channels. After first year SXM moved one of my favorite channels to online only. And last year they've re-branded another channel that I was listening to. I used to listen only to 2-3 music channels and Howard 100, Howard 101. After that I didn't see any more value of paying for something that I don't use. Now I listen to a free version of Spotify.
rubyinla
Only reason I'd be interested is for traffic info with my Sync 2 Nav. If it is really accurate.

rubyinla
I had been under the (mistaken) impression that the Traffic information for our Nav app was included in a regular subscription. NOT! Silly me. They want $3.99 a month, plus tax.

Are you sure you don't also have that complementary offer with your 2016? Edited March 8, 2019 by bbf2530

I don't remember when that started either but in order to qualify for the 6 years of Traffic and Travel Link, the vehicle must be equipped with factory navigation. I also still get NY metro area traffic and weather on Sirius channel 133, one of the few stations of its kind left. Frankly, the traffic info on WAZE is more up to date. rubyinla
Thanks for the input gentlemen. I'll do some research on that. I do have the factory Navigation. I'll turn turn on Sirius 133 and see what happens. All I'm finding is 6 months free. I'll call Lincoln tomorrow and check with them. https://www.siriusxm.com/infotainment (Traffic, etc) Monthly pricing is based on combining with an active SiriusXM satellite audio subscription. Again, what am going to state applies to the 2018's+ and I am not sure about earlier models: The complementary SiriusXM Radio and complementary SiriusXM Traffic & Travel Link subscriptions provided when you purchase a new Lincoln are two different items. The Lincoln complementary SiriusXM Radio subscription is for 6 months. But the Lincoln complementary SiriusXM Traffic & Travel Link subscription is for 6 years. Did you purchase new or used? If you purchased used, I am not sure how those subscriptions roll over to the new owner. Some used buyers have reported having issues with getting the complementary subscriptions. Calling the Lincoln Concierge as you stated, might be a good idea. Hopefully, this makes it more understandable. Supposedly, that is only for the original owner. I went thru that with Sirius and Lincoln. Lincoln told me it is not transferable. I mentioned to them that NOWHERE in the manual or on their website does it say not transferable that could find. The woman that I spoke with was willing to call the dealer to have it reactivated, but I never followed through with it. It really is a class action lawsuit waiting to happen unless it is in writing somewhere. I also just use Waze now. Real time updates from fellow drivers. I'm sure many of them are the older set that just drive around and look for things; like pot holes. And I'm gonna be one of them one of these days. rubyinla
Thanks Chris... I just called Lincoln concierge and talked to a girl there. Hard to understand her, but the gist of the conversation was there is no 6 year program for my 2016. After reading the SiriuXM web site I found a coverage map: https://www.siriusxm.com/siriusxmtraffic/marketcoverage I'm familiar with Waze but haven't used it a a couple of years. It always seemed to be slow to recalculate so I've stuck with google maps for traffic using the phone. Unfortunately with Sync 2 in my 2016 it doesn't appear that I can link either of them to the car. Thank you for everyone's input. Chris109
And something else I discovered was that there is XM Select and Sirius Select. Was gonna call them, but I just listen to certain stations that are on both. MLB used to interest me, but being an Oriole fan, possibly listening to only 47 wins again this year doesn't appeal to me. And listening to the play by play of the NHL on the radio?...uh, no. Sirius Select What will I hear? bbf2530
Hi Chris. Just to straighten out a misunderstanding: Sirius Select and XM Select are the same thing. Technically there is no "XM Select". It is "Sirius Select", by SiriusXM Radio. In fact, if you take another look, your two links go to pages with the same exact information. And both pages call the package "Sirius Select". Some people just call them by different names as a carry over from back when Sirius Radio and XM Radio were two different companies. Trying to avoid people becoming confused. Good luck.

Yes, that was before Sirius Radio and XM Radio merged to form SiriusXM Radio, with Sirius being the controlling party in the merger. Now everything is SiriusXM. There is no longer a separate XM Radio entity. All kind of unimportant information, other than for the knowledge of knowing...lol ? fusionff
I have to call again in a couple of days, hoping for the $60 yearly offer due to calling them less often. I've heard they are offering $99 for three years now, somehow I doubt that will be offered to me though. Anyone heard of this offer?

However, if you find out it is true, would you post back and let us know? I might just call and ask if I can extend my current 1 year subscription (which will expire in December) for that 3 year offer now, since I don't see it ever going much lower than $33 a year/3 years. Thanks and good luck. Edited March 17, 2019 by bbf2530
Dismonkey1
I have only seen the $99 (prepay in full) for 1 year offer (this is for the package that includes all the channels). I have been able to get this twice for two different cars. I want the NHL and NFL channel so that is the package I get. After that expires, it is difficult to get a deal. I have heard of people that cancel and then wait until Sirius contacts them with an offer to get them back. The Select for $60 sounds pretty good unless you really want streaming, etc outside the vehicle. Edited March 17, 2019 by Dismonkey1

But I do not get the NFL, NHL, NASCAR, PGA or NBA. On the one page it says "What will I hear", these are listed. If you click on 'compare packages', NFL, NHL, NASCAR, are listed. NBA and PGA are not checked. My radio only goes up to 180 something. On the list, all of these other stations are 'streaming only'. So, to get streaming, I need to pay 'another' $5 a month? I think not. I'm wondering if it goes according to each individual. If that is the case, I will just go back to 'selling' the car and get 3 months free every time. I would call, but I have a problem with people who don't speak English very well. R2D2
Dismonkey1
That is strange. When I go on there to compare plans, MLB, PGA, and NBA are not listed for Select. I do remember that it prompted me to enter my zip code to see what sports packages are available with Select when I initially looked (along with my vehicle info). I wonder if they exclude certain sports stations based on region to drive up the numbers for the All Access. Unfortunately, they have a monopoly on satellite radio and listening to regular radio really sucks after Sirius XM. I also had the free intro package and I know I had NHL plus some of the other sports channels. Also, when my subscription was up in January (it was a mixture of free trial and credits from my previous subscription), I elected to with another year of All Access. After all was said and done, they basically charged me around $280 in subscription/taxes/fees and then credited back around $220. I ended up paying $58.00 for the year until Jan. 2020. JoeBrown
I am lucky that I have a few really good HD Radio stations (WNEW HD-2 is one) in my area. I have satellite radio but don't really "need" it for music.
