A new interior door handle is what you need, it's pretty simple, and there a a bunch of videos on Youtube to assist you. Most videos show a Fusion, but it should be very similar. My wife comes home with my MKZ and parks in the garage and she could get locked in there overnight until I find her in the am? Frankly this does not sound all that bad.... Was this an option on my 2017? I may have ordered that option if available! I did notice that the new install doesn't seem to fit exactly the same as the old one, but at least it's working.
