Pulled the trigger, 2017 3.0t awd

Have been lurking for weeks, great forum.

ironically it all started when I heard about the Genesis g70 coming out.  I was going to own this car, it had everything I wanted.  However it seems the entire world can buy this car when Genesis USA has been teasing for the last 5 months with no official release date. Very frustrating. Never had such a hard time having someone take my money. Checked their site everyday.  Anyhow, the mkz came on my radar.  Gorgeous car, tons of tech, power and even takes reg gas. Pretty big deal as premium cost almost $1 more a gallon, $18 more per tank vs reg.  Yes, the mkz was twin turbo 6 is cheaper to drive than the turbo 4 and genesis.  Go figure.

Have been visiting Lincoln dealers and found a cpo 2017 3.0t awd.  Midnight blue, sport package and tech package. Only 8k miles. Looks and smells new. Was a FL car too so it never has seen snow or salt. What an amazing car. Quiet, smooth, powerful and with seats you never want to get out of. The cpo warranty is insane. Bumper to bumper 100k or 6yr from original date of purchase.  This is better than the new warranty!  What a classy car.  So far only concern is the thirsty engine. Let’s hope gas does not go to $5 per gallon again. Will see how that settles down one I start my routine. So far with about a quarter tank under my belt 50/50 hwy and city getting 18mpg per the computer.  My usual habits will be 80% hwy and 20% city once the work week starts. Do know it is 400hp but I am coming from a Mazda CX-5 so I am use to getting 28mpg combined. But wow does this make me smile.

irony is that the g70 still has no release date and the price ranges from rumors 35k to 50k. Funny thing is that the price I paid for a pretty loaded mkz is what a 4 cylinder  g70 is estimated to cost. Sounds strange to say but I am not mad that the mkz deprecated so much the first year.  My gain.  Car was originally spaced at 54k!

first task is to update the sync 2.0 to 3.0, no idea why the dealer didn’t have this done already.

Thank you everyone. Busy day, updated to sync 3, waxed the car and conditioned the leather today.

now.....if I could only get smartlink to work, app tells me something about dealer needs to activate or something.  2nd thing that has me stumped. The apps.  Cannot get Spotify to come up.  Matter of fact no apps are found on my phone even though the phone is seen and has the apps on it, arrggggg.

Nice! Love the blue!

Thats how I bought mine it was a CPO car I think that is what they call it anyway. Mine had 6,600 miles on it and yes the warranty is fantastic on the CPO cars. Buddy of mine works at the local Lincoln dealership and he just picked one up also it is a loaded MKZ with only 9,000 miles he was all set to pull the trigger on a F150 lease and this Lincoln pulled in so he could not pass up the deal. Great car you will love it!

Lol, was waiting for someone to catch that.  Yep, visiting. Dad was always an olds guy, would have gave me some grief about getting a Ford.......until he got inside ?

Car looks great. That color was on my short list.  My wife didn't like it.  Color is the only thing she gets to pick when we order.

I was always an Olds guy too, hence my screen name. And you and I are driving the same car. Dad would approve.

Thanks.  Yep, he had a delta 9 which must have been the length of a school bus and then my favorite, the delta 88, Black with maroon interior.  My Olds list of ownership, his 98, cutlass supreme and lastly my intrigue. Was sad when they killed off the brand.

the Mkz however is the highest performance and most luxurious ride I have owned. Loving every moment so far.

We also drove our MKZ to visit my parents. Mom and Dad always liked Lincolns, but bought Mercury's in '67 and '70, then a Granada, LTD, etc. They ride with us now.
