I am wanting to order a 2019 MKZ twin turbo but cannot find any expected date that it can be ordered. Surely someone knows if it will be Sep. or Oct before they will be available.

Hi David.  You should be able to order one now.  Lincoln Dealers in my area are taking orders. Have you contacted the Lincoln Dealers in your area?

Last information I had was that 2019 MKZ production was scheduled to begin 8/21. So they should be building them now as we type, or beginning any day now.

You can download the 2019 MKZ Order Guide here: https://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/65171-2019-lincoln-mkz-order-guide/

There are some major changes in the model/trim lineup and standard equipment/option/option package availability from the 2018 model year.

Hope you get yours quickly.  You'll love it.  Good luck.

Yeah. Sadly black labels are gone (glad I bought a 2018 instead of waiting) and it looks like the reserve twin turbo comes with the drivers package already. When you do get it please let us know if it has the 360 camera so I can swap my mirrors out.

Hi Funktastic.  No 360 camera. No new features.

The major changes include "Series" level name changes along with major standard equipment/option/option package changes and two new exterior colors. For example, the 2018 "Series" trim levels were "Premier", "Select", "Reserve" and "Black Label". For 2019, the "Series" trim levels are "MKZ", "MKZ Reserve I" and "MKZ Reserve II". A lot of previously optional equipment is now standard (with corresponding pricing).

Among other changes, the 3.0T is only available on the top line "Reserve II" trim level.  And while the 3.0T AWD now comes with the "Dynamic Torque Vectoring" and "Sport Tuned Suspension" as standard equipment, it does not come with the other goodies that used to come with the "Drivers Package" for the 2018 model year (i.e. 10 spoke satin aluminum wheels,  "Ebony and Touring White" leather interior, aluminum pedals, black brake calipers etc.). You can get some as part of other Series levels or packages, but not all.

Also, if you want the 3.0T in 2019, you now must have a moonroof, as it is standard on the Reserve II trim level. And if you want the Adaptive LED Headlights and Revel Ultima sound system, they are only available as part of the "Luxury Package", which also includes the Panoramic Moonroof.  A few other changes, but easier for someone to download the Order Guide than try to list them here individually.

On a strictly personal note, some of these 2019 model year packaging restrictions would very possibly (albeit reluctantly) have taken the MKZ off my list when I purchased my 2018. I ordered a 2018 Reserve 3.0T AWD.  Fully loaded: Drivers Package, Technology Package, Luxury Package, Climate Package and all other standalone options except for no moonroof. Both moonroofs take away a bit too much headroom for my comfort. Did not get one on my factory ordered 2007 MKZ either. However, we can no longer order a 3.0T without a moonroof. So as much as I love my 2018, I am not sure I would have been willing to accept the moonroof...for comfort reasons. In fact, the standard moonroof on the 2018 Black Label was the main factor which precluded me ordering a Black Label.

Hope this information helps and good luck.

Along those same lines, I ordered my 2017 3.0T/AWD in the Select Plus trim level because I did not want the low-profile tires that come with the 19-inch wheels (no moonroof either). I couldn't have ordered this in 2018 let alone 2019. Losing flexibility in configuration will result in losing sales.

Thank you for providing the information that I have been unable to get from my local dealer. I am disappointed that I cannot get a Reserve II without the power moonroof. I am anxious to see the new ceramic pearl metallic.

Is there any place to find out what prices are?

Hi David.  You are very welcome. Unfortunately, the people you spoke to at your local Lincoln Dealership must be lazy. ?

And yes, it is disappointing to me also. Back when I ordered my 2007, some options I wanted were packaged with the moonroof, so to avoid the moonroof,  I had to order my car without other options I really would have liked to have. Since then, Lincoln had improved their option availability and made the moonroofs a standalone option instead of packaging them with other options. Unfortunately for buyers, they have packaged the moonroof again, and/or made it standard. Disappointing, as you said.

Chris...Lincoln is still in the midst of the 2018 MKZ closeout sales, so the Lincoln website has not been updated with 2019 MKZ pricing or configurations just yet. Have you tried your local Dealerships for pricing? I just checked and my local Dealers are showing several 2019's in stock, although I don't know if they are there yet or only ordered/in transit. You can get general pricing by Googling "2019 Lincoln MKZ pricing" (I just tried) and piecing it together from different websites, but it isn't very comprehensive. Until the Lincoln website is updated with 2019 pricing, your best bet would be a quick stop by at your local Lincoln Dealership.

Good luck

Thanks.  I've been checking on and off last couple of weeks, but it was only coming up 2018 prices.  But I see now there are 2019's.

Hi Chris.  Found some basic information by using VIN's to find window stickers. The MKZ "Reserve I" 2.0T I-4 FWD base price is $39,990 ($38,995 + $995 Destination). The MKZ Reserve I 2.0T AWD base price is $41,990 ($40,995 + $995 Destination). So AWD is a $2,000 option on the 2.0T I-4.

The MKZ "Reserve Plus Package" is $3,000.

Not much info, but a start. ?

EDIT - Found this on Edmunds - The base MKZ model lists at $36,990 ($35,995 + $995 destination).

The "Reserve II" model list pricing begins at $45,990 for the 2.0T FWD model and $47,990 for the 2.0T AWD.

Hi all.  An updated 2019 MKZ Order Guide has been released for 9/1.  You can download it here (it is the 194.08KB one): https://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/65171-2019-lincoln-mkz-order-guide/

No real changes, just thought I would link to it for those interested. Hope this information helps and good luck.

I am pleasantly surprised to see how many previous options are now standard on the MKZ Reserve II . Leather seating, Navigation system, 245/40R19XL, Power moonroof, rear heated seats, heated steering wheel, enhanced active parking assist, multi contour seats, and power rear sunshade are all now standard.  MRSP is $44.995. I am anxious to see if/what the incentives ($) are. I will then order mine with the twin turbo 3.0L 6 cylinder ($2750).

I'm going to tell anyone now. I received a 3.0 twin turbo front wheel drive loaner while the dealer replaced my cluster and anyone wanting to save a little money by skipping the AWD need to rethink their decision.  The damn thing had traction control kicking in at 55MPH on dry pavement. Torque steer was absolutely brutal. Spend the extra cash and get the AWD with the 3.0T.  You'll thank me later.

Hi David. Just keep in mind that you are still paying for those 2018 options which are now 2019 standard equipment. That $45,990 price ($44,995 MSRP + $995 Destination fee) for the 2019 "Reserve II" is $4,895 higher than the 2018 MKZ Reserve price of $41,095 ($40,170 MSRP + $925 Destination). Plus, a few of those things you mention, such as leather seating and the 245/40R-19 tires, were already standard on the 2018 Reserve. Once full pricing for the 2019 is available, we can actually do a more accurate feature-to-price comparison. But one way or another, we pay for all the new standard features that used to be optional.

I would also tend to agree with Funktastic above. Seriously consider the AWD model if you are ordering the 3.0T.

I skipped the AWD and ordered my 2007 in the FWD version because the front wheels could handle 263 HP. However, I test drove both the AWD and FWD versions when I ordered my 2018 Reserve 3.0T, and here is my opinion: You will find that the 350HP of a 2019 MKZ 3.0T FWD will overpower the front wheels and give a generous amount of torque steer (not a pleasant thing). And I am past the age of driving with an extremely heavy foot (well, not all the  time anyway). ?

The MKZ 3.0T AWD version is a much better driver and handler than the MKZ 3.0T FWD. AWD is not only for the snow or low traction driving when you are putting that much power down. It becomes a necessity, even on dry pavement. Again, just my educated opinion.

Hey, I still think the 2019 is a great car to own, just providing some pricing comparison context and a little educated opinion.  Whatever you decide to do, good luck with your 2019 order. ?

When you get your 2019 MKZ  hopefully I could see you around Clear Creek rd and say there goes DavidTX.

Really appreciate the comments FWD VS. AWD. Hope others will comment on their preferences. I was thinking that living in central TX I wouldn't need AWD. Sounds like that isn't the case.

I would also strongly recommend AWD, 350hp on the front wheels will get old very soon.  Plus Torque Vectoring (Included when choosing the 3.0 AWD) makes for better handling in turns, and quicker response in emergency situations.

  • 1 month later...

Yesterday, I ordered a 2019 MKZ Hybrid Reserve II in Rhapsody Blue.  I hope it will be in my garage by Christmas (although I realize that may be an unrealistic target date for delivery).

In nearly all respects, I really like the inclusion of so many features as standard equipment on the new Z.  In my view, a luxury car that purports to be, and aspires to live up to the status of, a true luxury car should just come automatically with things like premium floor mats, heated and cooled front seats, etc.

The only option the car that I ordered will not have is one that I wanted—and would quite happily/willingly have paid extra $ to get but could not get without being forced to accept something else I specifically did not want—and that is the 20-speaker Revel audio system.

I will have to “settle” for the 14-speaker Revel audio system because the 20-speaker Revel is packaged with the panoramic sliding glass roof that I very much did NOT want.  (The panoramic sliding roof is a deal-breaker for me.  Too much cost, weight, and complexity, and just something to get stuck in the open position someday and cost $$ to get fixed.  No thanks.)

This marks my return to the Lincoln MKZ (have an MKC at present and had an older ‘Z before that).  I look forward to being back on this forum.

Hi 1984. Welcome back and good luck with your 2019 MKZ order! Hope it arrives quickly.

Depending on your Dealers order allotment and how quickly they place the order, you still have a chance at a Christmas arrival. As of 10/15 they were scheduling for the build week of 12/3.

Good luck!

The dealership with which I placed my order sends orders on Tuesdays only, apparently, and I ordered mine on a Wednesday so it’s unlikely mine would be included in the 12/3 build week, I’d think, but thanks for the encouragement.

Presuming my ‘Z is built by the end that week, about how much transit time should one allow for a new MKZ to make its way from Hermosillo to Oklahoma?  Two weeks?  Three?  More?  (I realize the timing of things—the holidays—may slow things down in my case.)
