RealGomer
I recently got an LG K30 thru T-Mobile. I can make and answer phone calls but the Sync no longer displays or notifies me of text messages. The phone is running Android 7.1 Nougat. Is there something else I need to do to get it to display & notify me of text msgs as it did with my Android 4.1 LG phone? Once in a while (hasn't done it in about 6 months) I lose the messaging coming up to the MKZ screen. I just drop the bluetooth connection in both the MKZ and in the phone and then establish it as a new phone and my messaging comes back. I believe I see two questions after re-establishing the phone, I think one of them is about messaging, you must answer that properly for it to work. MKZMark
Text messaging has stopped on my '17 too. Removing and re-adding the phone (Samsung S7) doesn't help.
Chris109
Isn't there something on the phone that asks if you want to let the car have access to the phone after establishing a (re-) connection and vice versa?
MKZMark
Yes and the car has access to everything (contacts, messages, phone, media).

Yes.... when I do a re-connect it asks me for access to my contacts and messages in two separate questions.... if you don't answer them properly then the connection to those services are not made in my experience. jm98
I had Samsung Note III and the text feature did not work with MKZh. I got new LG G6 and text feature seems to work with audio replay on 14 MKZh.
Eurythmian
My iPhone is set up correctly and it used to display on the car that I had received a text. It stopped doing this about 2 years ago and I can't get it to work properly again. I have investigated to the [oint of just giving up. JoeBrown
I don't have an Iphone or an answer to your specific issue. As far as SYNC is concerned... I have a 2014 MKz my Motorola phone is android. It displays and will also read my text messages flawlessly.
R2D2
I have an android phone and have found it to lose the reading of messages once in a while. To get it to work I completely remove the Bluetooth info in the phone and in the car. Shut down power to both and then restart and repair it. There are a couple of questions asked just after the repair starts of which one is about the MKZ allowing message access. This must be answered "always" for it to continue to work. There was a previous thread on this.....
