'17 Black Label (Chalet) seat wear

Thinking this might be a bit excessive for wear based on the car's age, how it's cared for and the purported quality of the leather used by Lincoln...This is the driver's side upper bolster, outside portion even...

Please tell me your thoughts. I haven't called Lincoln yet...

Looking at my 2017 I am not easy on seats esp with my fat A! I have lots of creasing like in your pix but what bothers me is the wear you have in the first pic I don't have any of that and I know from experience that type of wear only gets worse. I think I would bring it up to my dealer.

Hi Stoked. What do you use to clean the leather seats in your MKZ? It's a little hard to tell what is wear and what is contamination in the photos.  Even the stitching is darkened due to some contamination. I think another good, deep cleaning with a quality leather cleaner would help. Sometimes it takes a good amount of elbow grease and a few applications. Letting the cleaner sit on the bad areas for a few minutes before buffing sometimes helps to loosen stubborn dirt. It would certainly make it less noticeable and easier to discern what is abnormal wear, especially in the creases where a good amount of dirt and discoloration is.

Once you have it cleaned up well, bringing it to the Dealer to have them check it over would not be a good idea, as Zed mentioned.

Keep us updated and good luck.

I use Lexol, and always have. All of my cars have leather interiors and the seats look impeccable in those cars, despite them being older with more miles.

I owned a Mazdaspeed 6 for about 7 years and never had the kind of wear showing here. That car also had a white leather interior.

Y wife is the primary driver and nowhere near able to cause this kind of wear. That said, I will try again to clean it but I truly believe there is a defect here..

My Vineyard interior had this same issue, in the same spot as the pictures.

Take it in, it seems to be an issue with the material development process. You'll get it replaced under warranty without an issue.

Hi Zalvern,

I have the same issue, with my used Black Label MKZ I have recently bought. It seems the dealer is evaluating this. How would I testify and justify it is the material's development's process fault?
