How much all together did those mods cost? Is the intercooler and throttle body a hard install? How is daily driveability?

Tune is 600. Intercooler is 950. Bbk throttle body I got for 300 but typically 500. but you can get a nice ported stock throttle body from gigsperformance.com for 250. Steeda airbox 350. The throttle body is a 15 minute job. About as easy as it gets. The intercooler is a little tougher, easier than I thought is was going to be. Took a few hours. Drivability is as good as factory. Really don't know any difference until you lay into it and feel the power difference.

That’s impressive and looks like a very clean launch without wheel hop. Are you on all season or summer tires? Care to share launch rpm?

I did forget to mention I do have the ultimate performance rear motor mount too. It did help calm down the wheel hop. As for tires they are toyo proxes r888r 245 40 18. About an inch shorter than stock. But at keystone we can not drive around the waterbox. I am leaving between 1500 and 1800. Anything more and it will wheel hop like mad at the track. But on the street I can go to almost 3000 and get very little spin and no hop with those tires. I been too nervous to try spin the tires in the water box, maybe next time.

very impressive. As an addicted drag racer myself, I am tempted to take my '15 V6 AWD out just to bracket race on our weekly venue (Sonoma raceway) at sea level. Sadly, since I've owned 10 second cars, our latest was a low 11-second s-10, and I tune a 9 second Camaro, running my slow street car just for "fun" just doesnt do it for me.

if my '15 ran 12.xx (anything in the 12's) I might consider it, but it's a 15 second (yawn) car so...

thanks for sharing...that car boogies.

I understand what you mean. Here is my other v6 ford.

At first I would like to run the tune and airbox. Would this require the intercooler and or throttle body to be safe? Or what would the side effects be. I would not be racing on the Strip just looking for power gains. No exhaust on your car stock muffler looks very heavy.

The tune is the best bang for the buck. You do not need to run anything else to be safe. The throttle body and airbox is minimal gains. Yes still stock exhaust on it. But I do have a set of ultimate performance downpipes to put on yet.

Thanks for sharing on tires and rpm. 1500 to 1800 seems to be a sweet spot from what I hear. Still haven’t been to the track, but I hope to go and see what the tune does for me.

That is a beast Thunderbird!! I love it! Beautiful car and color.

The tune makes the car so much more enjoyable. And thanks for the compliments on the bird

This is pretty much the "trick", I've learned. Gotta be easier on the launch at the drag strip, it's the only way you'll get your best times.

Can confirm why mine also ran more horribly than it really does. Itll always be faster from a roll or on the street.

Very nice run! That's how mine should of been by easing up on the RPM launch at the strip.

Zalvern how much would you say the rear motor mount helps with 60 ft times? I'm still debating on upgrading it and whether to go CPE or darkstar mount. Just something to be said for that nice painted aluminum mount from CPE. And since they switched to the 60 durometer bushing they are pretty much equal.

Yes it does, as long you still don't trip up the ECU with a hard launch, as in all my runs I'll admit I attempted launches above 2k RPM and didn't realize how easy it is to slip over (and bog the launch). Still best to launch around 1500 - 1800 with a Livernois tuned (and probably stock as well), but the mount should help reduce any slam and powertrain loss to create wheel hop. Darkstar is eventually going to make a transmission side mount, but has been busy. Though it will increase the NVH rating further yet kill any more wheel hop.
