2019 Lincoln MKZ Order Guide

Changed trim levels

I saw that earlier today, and it makes absolute sense.  A few color changes and package changes, but nothing different, as expected.

Now they need to release the Black Label Order Guide.

Changed trim levels

Hi all. In my case, I'm lucky (and very happy now) that I did not wait for the 2019 model year release and instead ordered my 2018 Reserve 3.0T AWD now. The 2019 trim levels and option package requirements would have eliminated the MKZ from my wanted list.

Among the important must haves for me were the 3.0 engine, no moon roof of any kind (not enough headroom), the LED headlamps and Revel Ultima sound system. Unfortunately, the new trim levels and option packages now make the 3.0 only available on the Reserve II trim. But the Reserve II trim level also makes a moon roof standard equipment. Additionally, the Luxury Package (LED headlamp and Revel Ultima sound system for 2018), now includes the Panoramic moonroof in 2019. Previously, the Panoramic roof was a free standing option, not part of the Luxury Package. It would have made it impossible for me to order an 2019 MKZ I would have been happy with.

So for me, a decision worked out for the best this time. A rare occurrence. :headspin: :hysterical:

When you select the 3.0 AWD on the Reserve II model, it includes Dynamic Torque Vectoring and Sport-Tuned Suspension.  (Option L5F)

Thanks, FF.  Missed that.  I saw other parts of the package mentioned and figured it had to be somewhere.

I felt the same way about my '17. I wanted the 3.0T AWD, but not the 19-inch wheels. In '17 I was able to order a Select trim with the engine and wheels I wanted but for '18 the 3.0 was only available on Reserve trim which included the 19s. I understand simplifying the order process, but it forces a customer to take something they don't want, or perhaps makes him look elsewhere.

That's the point.  I'm glad I also didn't hold out.  And with them providing all the valet service and shit on vehicles now I'm wondering if black label will still be a thing.  MKZ black label will probably not be a thing at all.  So glad I ordered my 2018 and it should be here at the end of the month.  It was built earlier this week and we are a railway hub being in Omaha (Home of Union Pacific).  They drop the car off right here off the train and the dealer goes and picks it up.  Can't wait.

So basically, Driver's Package is now bundled with the 3.0T engine with AWD. No need to option it, or you cannot get 3.0T AWD without Driver's enhancements. I am going to guess this will mean a price increase with it being included regardless on the AWD 3.0 MKZ. But it makes sense. FWD 3.0T and Non Driver's AWD 3.0 strike me as minority sale options.

Paint colors...sounds to me that Infinite Black Metallic is Diamond Black Metallic coming back, just renamed. Crystal Copper sounds like it will be the Sunset Metallic color used on the Ford Fusions. It is a nice paint when seen in the sun.

Now I had to settle for a Moon Roof getting Black Label, as it was standard. That's ok, as I still got to keep the rear powered sunshade. But now for 2019 the Luxury Package enforces taking the Panoramic Vista Roof. That stinks. I really would have not wanted that option at all.

I actually think it's the other way around honestly.  The 3.0AWD was small to begin with but one with the drivers package was even more rare find for me.  I found one within 1000 miles of me.  But I feel like people don't want the sport suspension with it.  MKZs already ride a tad rougher than a typical lincoln.  The sport suspension makes it even rougher (I don't personally mind but I would think most lincoln owners do).

I'm miffed about them bringing back a metallic black paint job.  I would have loved to get one instead of the solid black but I'll live.  Super excited to see a Pearlescent color return though.  I'm not really into white cars but Damn did Pearl thunderbirds look good in the mid 90s.

And I agree with not having options for the roofs.  There really aren't options going forward on these cars.  I guess it's forcing people into more expensive cars overall which will most likely turn people away even further.  Rumor is that 2019 is the last year for the fusion but I guess it really will depend on sales.  This will pretty much take MKZ sales even lower and they will be justified killing it off this year.  I'm curious to see if they will get the 360 camera and how hard would it be to adapt that to the 17/18 models if at all possible.

I'm still waiting for my 18 order to get here but i got a reserve 3.0 AWD with only the technology package. I didnt really want the driver package or the luxury package so i'm glad i got to choose to keep costs down.

IMHO the drivers package is a must have. The Rear drive unit being able to send power from side to side without using the brakes is a MUST. and the car can send up to 70 percent of the torque to the rear instead of just 50 percent.
