Kudos to my local Lincoln Dealer

When I was looking at the 2013 Zh back in Sept 17, I took it out a couple of times.  Once with the salesman and once without.  I was 'on the fence' about it on a Friday.  Sales manager told me I could take it for the weekend.  Cool.  So I did and ended up buying it on Monday.  This past month (May), they had a special on car detailing.  $100 with coupon. Since May was hectic for me I never had a chance to get it done.  I was at the dealership about something else and was casually talking to the GM, Scott, and the conversation ended up about the detailing special.  Scott told me to make an appointment and he will give it to me for $100.  He told me that their guy that does detailing is very good at what he does and it would be a 3 hour job cause he is meticulous. I said to Scott that, even though his group is a great bunch of guys, I didn't think that they could tolerate me for 3 hours.  Scott told me that it wouldn't be a problem for him to give me a loaner car til my car is done.  Double cool, hence my kudos.

Don't want to tell name of dealership except to say, they are HUGE.

So, I bring in my 13 Zh to get it detailed.  Manager gave me an MKC for a loaner.  Not very impressed with it.  (AWD, clunk, clunk when shifting, but whatever).  He calls and tells me my car is done.  Go pick it up.  I get it and, whoa, what is that smell.  Smelled like they turned the air conditioner on while someone was painting a car.  Really strong.  Almost made me sick.  I go in and talk to the manager and he tells me that it was prbably cause it was sitting in the sun so it didn't air out.  Ok.  I'll go with that.  All the way home I had the windows open and air blowing out every vent possible.  Still strong odor.  I'll give it the night with windows open.  Next day, no change.  Still stinks.  I shoved some Lysol in the vents and turned the air on and let it sit for 15 minutes.  Smelled like Lysol for a bit until that dissipated. Odor still there.  Asked a detailer near me about it.  He said whatever they used is soaked into the leather and a way to do it would be to wet a microfiber cloth and run it over the interior.  I just spent a hundred bucks.  I'm not doing it.  I get home and I get a call from the dealership thanking me for letting them work on the car.  Told the woman about the situation.  She said no problem.  They'll do it again to my specifications and use whatever I want for the interior.  I'm bringing it back next week.  I've given it 3 days and that smell is still strong.  Hate to waste the time having to go through it again, but, they said they will make it right.  We'll see.
