Hope all are well here. If you have the chance this weekend please thank a Veteran for their service. May you all have a safe weekend with friends and family.

Hi CruzingGuy. I second your Memorial Day wishes to everyone. Our veterans active and retired. And especially those who gave all in defense of our country.

And I hope everyone has a safe and peaceful weekend. :)

While I appreciate the sentiment I would like to point out memorial day is to celebrate those veterans who are no longer with us. Veterans day is the holiday to appreciate us service members. I'll gladly thank you for your support still but just wanted to point out the difference :)

Well said.  I SMH when I hear someone say "Happy Memorial Day."  Nothing happy about it.

Yes, I am aware and you are correct in identifying that. Thank you!

Hi guys. Just want to point out that between the first two posts being referred to without differentiation (CruzingGuy's and mine), we thanked those who have given all...and those who are living. And no one said "Happy" Memorial Day.

There is nothing wrong with also shaking the hand and thanking our living veterans for their service. They appreciate it too. In fact, all Memorial Day services, concerts etc, including the National Memorial Day Concert in Washington D.C., make a special point of paying tribute to those veterans who have given all and those who are alive, whether in attendance or away.

We honor the service, sacrifice and memory of those no longer with us.  And we honor the service and thank those who are still with us while they are still with us, and can definitely hear us. Nothing wrong with that at all.

So CruzingGuy...I once again second your Memorial Day wishes to everyone. Our veterans active and retired. And especially those who gave all in defense of our country.

And I hope everyone has a safe and peaceful weekend. :)
