Airflow
I am in the same boat in CT with the front so I went with a vanity plate with an abbreviation of my business name. At least this way there is something for me to think about that is positive.
Zalvern
Get one of those rubber bumper plate guards and use a high quality foam tape to mount it on the front. There are plenty of alternatives to avoid drilling to mount the front securely. It's a gorgeous ride to avoid putting those holes in. Congrats man, you'll love it everyday. brucelinc
I am not sure how law enforcement views running without a front plate in your state. Front plates are required here in Minnesota but I didn't have one installed on my Continental or my Mustang. I have driven the Conti for well over a year and never been stopped. bbf2530
Hi fusionff. So...how are you liking your new MKZ so far? We want to know! :yahoo:
fusionff
Hi fusionff. So...how are you liking your new MKZ so far? We want to know! :yahoo: I am very happy with my MKZ, I can't think of anything more that I'd like to see the car have. I am glad that I ended up getting the Technology Package, the perimeter sensors are great to have, but I haven't played with the Adaptive Cruise or Parking Assist yet. But it drives real nice, it's powerful and comfortable for sure. I have no intention of mounting the front plate, I put the front plate bracket away, and if I need to, I'll get it attached down the road. The first thing that I did was buy a 3rd Fob, programmed it, and got the key cut. That's something that I always do, I never want to get stuck with only one Fob. I had it tinted last week, not as dark as I usually go though. Overall, she's been an absolute pleasure to drive. ZED
That's really sharp! Glad you are happy with it I feel the same way about mine frankly I never felt I would like a Lincoln until my father suggested I try one out and I was hooked after one drive! MKZMark
Looks great, I need to do that before summer hits. Airflow
fusionff
Looks amazing! Is that 20% tint? It's 35%, I've always had 20%, but that's pretty dark. Airflow
MKZMark
What's on the rear window -- it looks darker. Airflow
Airflow
I ended up going with 35% too which came out dark enough for me this time around. fusionff
fusionff
What's on the rear window -- it looks darker. The rear window is 35%, I'll snap a picture straight from the back tomorrow. The rear window in that one picture above does look darker, which is probably due to the angle. Airflow

rah1723
I have seen it now in writing... the MKZ will NOT be available in 2019 in Black Label... so get it in 18 form... on a side note it is sad how the critics have destroyed such a great car..My 16 MKZ hybrid is fantastic, and the value on a used one is, well not good.. must be because it doesn't have a god awful front grill that looks like a venus fly trap wide open trying to catch ... a breath? Rick.

fusionff
I just wanted to post a better picture of the Thoroughbred color, it's tough to capture the shades of the brown in pictures. In almost every picture, it appears a solid brown, when there are actually darker and lighter areas.
FunktasticLucky
while I enjoy the wood from the thoroughbred theme I really just couldn't deal with the brown. I wanted the black seats and all so bad... so at the end of the day I went with the Chalet. I have to say the espresso has grown on me (mostly because it looks black except in really direct sunlight) and the White contrasts the black exterior extremely well. I have had my share of issues with it so far but the dealer is working them out one by one.
MKZMark
What issues have you had?
FunktasticLucky
Rear drive unit leaking (they didn't fix it), my a pillar trim doesn't fit right, my center speaker grill won't stay secure on one of the corners, the trim piece that is on the side of the center console has a plastic clip that won't stay attached to the trim piece so it keeps coming loose. One of the trim pieces in the air conditioning vent isn't fully secured, the dealership scratched the cluster lens and took me arguing with the sales manager to get that replaced (he wanted to buff the scratches out and stick a durashield over it) and now I was cleaning underneath the plastic engine cover pieces and discovered one of the plastic radiator pins is broke to all hell. It's been interesting to say the least. But the dealership has been working with me where they can.
MKZMark
Yikes, sorry to see that.

I was considering the Chalet, but I knew I wouldn't be able to live with a white interior. Plus, I don't like a total blacked out interior, the brown is a nice touch, IMO. It's a good thing that they have the different choices available, and all 3 are nice too.
fusionff
Well, it's been exactly one year of owning this car, and I definitely am happy with my choice. I brought in in to the dealership last Tuesday for an oil chance and the Annual Detailing. And damn, when I finally picked it up yesterday, which was exactly one year to the day that I first drove it home, the car was so clean that it had that same brand new look to it, it was absolutely spotless, inside & out. I could have picked it up on Thursday, but it was raining and the awesome parts service woman said there was no need to pick it up in crappy weather. Friday was a workday for me, so I picked it up on Saturday. The only issue I've had in the year, is a current blown speaker in the passenger door, causing a small vibration, and is on order now. I am hoping that this car is as rock solid as my 07 Fusion was. Super clean Z The trunk carpet had evenly directional vacuum marks, like a baseball field. My loaner was a brand new 2019 MKZ, and I was the first driver to use it. Nothing was set up, I had to do it all, Audio, clock, and all the menu options. It was a total opposite of mine, white on white, 2.0 Reserve I, with 14 speaker Revel system. It had Sync 3 Version 3.3, which gives you a choice of display background colors, well 2 shades of 2 color options anyway. I never understood why we don't have a choice of background colors at all, give me a damn color selection already, let me match the ambient lighting. MKZMark
I wonder if the 2017s will get 3.3. Great to see you're a happy owner at the 1 year mark, I'm hitting 18 months in a few days and the car continues to be great.
