vcn5
I just purchased a '11 with 36K. The car is great, but I am getting a terrible smell, anyone else run into this problem??
drolds1
This is most likely caused by mold in the A/C system, specifically the evaporator. This is quite a common situation. You have moisture trapped in a dark, humid space; conditions ripe for mold. Frigi Clean is a product used to clean the system. You can attempt this yourself or have it done professionally. Be forewarned: it requires drilling a small hole in the evaporator case. Not everybody is comfortable doing this. Here's another product that's simpler to use. Some people spray Lysol into the air intake at the base of the windshield, but this is a temporary fix, at best. Check your cabin filter as well. Make sure the drain tube isn't plugged and when you start using your A/C this season, shut it off a few minutes before stopping and leave the blower running to dry out the system so mold doesn't re-form. vcn5

kam
First thing I would do is check the cabin filter. vcn5
