Nav went to sleep

Saturday night, I entered a destination into my nav and it just stuck on "Calculating Route."  The map was fine and it showed the car moving but it wouldn't go past that stage.  I couldn't cancel the route.  It said that there was no route to cancel.  We had to use one of our phones.  After about 5 minutes, it finally calculated the route. It usually calculates the route in a manner of seconds.  I canceled that and tried a few more destinations.  Same problem.

Yesterday morning it was fine and has remained so ever since.  Weird! :headscratch:

Where you out in the open when you programmed in the destination?

What was the weather and cloudcover like when this happened.... maybe the system could not find enough satellites to fix your position.

I know it happens to me sometimes if I try to program a destination while still parked in the garage    :thud:

Yep, I get that sort of thing as well. I have experienced the radio getting stuck on a channel, and not only unable to switch channels, but source as well. In fact the radio will not turn off until the car is actually turned off.

The Navigation map will at times freeze up and then only the voice commands continue, and that portion of the system can't be turned off either until the car is shut off, or you arrive at your destination.

I believe I have what may be a reincarnated Edsel, but I only have 29 months left until the lease ends on this fix or repair daily.

Oh yeah, the dealer still can figure out what's rattling inside the car when driving at highway speeds.

It's a beautiful thing my FORD! I really feel confident taking a long road trip with my Mkz. Oh Yeah!

Ford stock down below $12 a share, I wonder why?

Yes, I was out in the open.  Lost in Ft. Lee, NJ (lol).   Weather was clear. I still had the problem in my driveway when I got home and that's where I normally program a destination before setting out.  It's all open.

Waze had no trouble connecting.  No outages shown on GPS outage center website.

Waze on my Galaxy S7 has done the same thing. My Windows tablet has been glitchy since the last major update. All in all, the MKZ has been pretty solid but complex software/hardware can do this at times.

Yup.  I don't get too bent out of shape about stuff like this that generally rights itself or requires a reboot. This is life in 21st cntury.  I don't lose my mind if the doors don't lock or unlock once in a while when I touch the handle, like some others do.  Who hasn't had to restart their computer, phone, cable box, etc. every now and again?  I had to reboot my wi-fi thermostat the other day. ;)

I'm slowly giving in to connecting things to the Internet, my home climate control and garage door are now on WiFi as well as two Lincolns.
