LBS
My first post but I just found out yesterday our 2017 MKZ 3.0T AWD with 4000 miles on it is getting a new motor. Twice since august it has fouled a plug while idling for a long period 30 to 40 minutes. Engine light came on and dealership got code for different cylinders each time. This last time dealer contacted Lincoln. My wife had to take it in both times and I wish they had told her that it was low on oil both times. They said it is a valve guide problem and has gone through about 4 Quarts of oil in the first 4000 miles. Found out yesterday the new motor is setting at the dealer to be put in next week. Anyone here heard of this problem? I guess there is 3 different Ford engines this happens to. Love the car and it runs like our C7 Stingray(except the transmission). Airflow
I haven’t, but that is good to know. There will always be some failures in any production.
drolds1
See this thread. Just out of curiosity, but why would it be idling for 30-40 minutes at a time? R2D2 and MKZMark
LBS
Waiting in 0 degree weather for wife at meeting last time , pick up grandkids at school in line the first time. Where we live you don't drive home and back. I work on oil and gas wells and my Ford truck idles all day (my office)
