Juvibro99
Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and was wondering if anyone has tried putting the 2010-2012 Blis mirrors on 09 and older models. Anyone know where the sensors would go and has it been done before thanks.
drolds1
The sensors are located behind the rear bumper cover. Since BLIS was not offered in 2009, it would be costly and difficult, if not impossible, to retrofit any Ford parts. Nothing on these cars is plug and play. Each car has "as-built" data tied to the VIN. There's no 2009 VIN that's going to have as-built data with BLIS. Your best bet would an aftermarket kit, such as from here. There are others. Do a Google search. Installation of an aftermarket kit video. R2D2
4N1M4L
I did some looking into this at one point. I know blis functions without the park aid module, but i'd imagine the side object detectors still need proper specific CAN input to know the difference between park and drive. as doctor olds said, you're probably better off with an aftermarket kit. maybe even wiring in your lights to the other kit if your really adventurous.
