New to Lincoln
And how does it affect handling? I ask because our new-to-us 2015 MKZ is quite exciting to drive on roads with tire tracks worn into them or on roads with patchy snow cover. To say it is twitchy is an understatement. Having an alignment done helped on good roads, but did nothing for the aforementioned ones.
drolds1
What you're experiencing is known as "tramlining," which is the tendency for a car's tires to follow the grooves in the road. The tendency is exacerbated by wider tires, such as the ones on your MKZ. The wider the tire, the more the effect, especially if there's snow on those roads. Unless you have some unusal suspension problem, it's not the fault of the car, per se. I find the second-gen MKZs to be great handling cars. More on tramlining. New to Lincoln
Thanks for the reply and the link. I'll stop worrying about it, and just be cautious on snow covered roads. We have had the MKZ for five months and love it. Comfortable, quiet, great handling (except on snow) fast, and beautiful to boot.
