Billm
Hello All, I have a 2014 MKZ 3.7 AWD with all options (tech package, park assist, pano roof etc). The cursor, which is the car location, has a tendency to drift while driving on interstates so it tracks to the right or left of the highway. If I am travelling to a set destination, this causes all sorts of annoying direction updates as the systems shows the car on whatever street it can "latch" onto and attempts to redirect it to the hiway. It also causes the "TAKE A REST" warning to come on quite frequently as I Drive through lakes and ponds on the nav screen...... Used to always drift to the right of the road I was travelling on, Dealer did a "synch update with IDS", as an update was available. Dealer advised that there were no error codes in the system prior to updating. Since the update, the drift has gotten worse and the vehicle now is almost constantly "tracking" off of the road I am actually on. This only happens on the interstates. No issues when driving around city streets, etc. Any ideas as to what could be going on here? I'm bring the car back to have them take another look. I hope it's just a corrupted update as opposed to any issues with the GPS antenna module, etc..... I do have a 6 year 120K mile extended warranty that will cover any issues with a $100 deductible after the 4yr 50K bumper to bumper expires - which is soon as the car just hit 49K..... Billm
Hi Dr. Olds, Date of manufacture is Jan 2014. First date of in service is Sept 2014. It was a dealer demo for 8 months. My paperwork only shows the SYnc update, there was no GPS recalibration done. I will contact dealer today. Thanks!
