bbf2530
Wow Is limo tint legal on noraml cars? Hi Tucker. Every state has it's own laws concerning which windows can be tinted and how dark they can be tinted. Although the term "limo tint" is rather vague, very few states allow tint as dark as what "most" people (or at least I) would consider to be "limo tint". Therefore, everyone should consult their states motor vehicle laws or be sure the shop they use knows the law and follows it (if they wish to avoid being ticketed and fined). Good luck. robertlane
I think the phrase limo tint applied to a lot of various shades of tint as a general term. Each state has different guidelines and here they are: http://tintlaws.com/

JayD
I have 15% on the back/rear windows on my 2010. Here is the most accurate chart for the U.S. http://www.iwfa.com/Portals/0/PDFDocs/Law_Charts/StateLawChart2192015.pdf

Each state has different guidelines and here they are: http://tintlaws.com/ Just a small update to tintlaws.com: that site was sold in 2013, the new owner failed to update it and many listings there are inaccurate (as i found out recently). So if interested, check out windowtintlaws.org for up-to-date tint laws. (Sorry for bumping such an old thread, but still could be useful.) djimpulsion
There are stipulations state to state as well regarding rear door window tint if the vehicle is equiped with driver and passenger door mirrors. example: here in NY if you have functioning driver and passenger door mirrors, you can tint the rear doors and rear window as dark as you like. However if you only have driver door mirror and rear view, you are limited to 70% on rear doors but can still tint rear window as dark as you want.
