Tech package or drivers package

Ok guys looking for some input on a new mkz. I have been looking at two different 2017 models both cars have the same equipment but one Veh has the tech package and the other has the drivers package. I am leaning towards the drivers package and found the veh I want and I think I'm getting a good deal but I am a little hesitant as it will be my daily driver and I am thinking that I should get the tech package instead it's one or the other I can't afford both so my question is what's better to have tech or drivers package. (Or should I wait for an 2018) Any input would be great thanks. Eric

If you're an alert driver you won't really need the features of the Technology Package. The Driver's Package would add even more driving fun and sportier looks inside and out to an already great looking/driving car. Driver's Package gets my vote!

You'll surely save some $ going with a '17 vs. a 2018.

By the way I have neither of those packages on my 2017 Select (Plus) trim.

Edit: Just noticed you're on LI too. Which dealer are you working with? I and also drolds1 on this forum have had very good experience with Hassett in Wantagh.

I have a 2017 with both packages. If I had to choose one I would go with the Driver’s package. The carbon fiber in the interior, seats, painted calipers, wheels, and darker grill make for a unique vehicle. In addition, the all wheel drive system is an upgraded torque vectoring unit for better performance in turns. Whatever choice you make, you are getting a great car. Best of luck. Post some pics when you pick it up.

Hey guys thanks for the input. Long islander I am dealing with Hassett they have a sliver one on the lot but I have been looking for a couple of weeks now and I found a gray one up state about an hour away from me and they are 62.00 a month cheaper for the same car just a different color so unless they match the price I'm going up there to get it. Plus I like the gray color better then the sliver but I'm waiting for a call back from hassett on Monday and if they don't call I'm buying the gray one.

I just looked on their website and saw the silver car. Panoramic roof on it too, nice! I'd be very surprised if they won't match the legitimate price from another dealer on an identically equipped car.

My sales guy there is Rich, great to deal with.

I would rather deal with them on the car because they are close to home for me but I do like the gray color better. I have been dealing with a guy named John ferinoli and I'm waiting for a phone call back from him tomorrow.

Like Airflow, I have both packages.  But if I had to choose one, it would be the Driver's Sport package.  Between the seats and the handling, it's a different car.  When I get a low-option loaner for service, the difference never ceases to amaze me (and my wife as well).  However, that's a personal preference. You have to decide what your priorities are. If you value sharp handling over everything else, then the Sport package is for you.  I would advise you, however, to try out the seats in the Sport before you buy.  They're not for everyone.

Hey guys so I am going to go with the car upstate the magnetic gray one the dealer by me said there is no way they can be giving me that price and they are $62.00 more a month then the other dealer so the gray one it is. I like that color better then the silver any way. So I should be picking it up next week sometime as I am away on Business and won't be back till next week.
