3.0T Turbo Flutter

Recommended Posts

Are you mixing it up with atmospheric blow off valve by chance? I would not want the actual turbo flutter sound, as it is damaging to the units.

I know there are some who mistake flutter with the blow off sound from the bypass valve. Hence why I ask.

Some people like that pssh sound. I personally am against it for the sole fact it reduces performance, especially since the 3.0T uses an electronic OEM bypass valve. The only upgrade in terms of performance is the GFB diverter plus valve which further improves on the OEM design.

Vehicle will run more rich, lose boost activated throttle response, and make the PCM think there is a boost leak at times. Some still may not care about that though, so to each their own.

With the Steeda CAI and GFB diverter+, I can hear enough of that blow off sound when the hood is open and I rev the engine. No performance losses of anykind which is what I value most.

Great tip on the GFB diverter valve.  What model DV+ did you use?

Thanks

9358 which is the same for Ecoboost Mustang and Fiesta ST.

I posted the assembly video in my bolt on thread. Very easy. Just be careful to not drop the brass piston into the engine bay, I took my time to avoid that happening!

Great for even stock tune. You maintain all correct boost performance and pressures.
