I am looking to buy the new model, I am a first time Lincoln purchase but I saw them at the Autoshow and I have fallen in love and must have one. I don't know all that much about them so I am hoping to learn a little more before I purchase one

Some of your considerations might include whether you want the MKZ Hybrid model or not?  The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid seems to be a VERY popular option.

  • 3 weeks later...

I ordered a 2013 MKZ Hybrid last May (received it in June) and am very satisfied with it.

I've gone as long as 4 weeks between fillups (that was all in-town driving and in moderate weather) and even then put only 10.8 gallons in it to fill it.  Getting around 37.5 to 38 mpgs and that's without trying especially hard to get high mileage; pretty much just my normal style of driving.  I could probably get better mileage if I worked at it.

Nevertheless, I like my car a great deal and have only a couple minor quibbles that have nothing to do with the engine or mileage (and, I rather doubt, are things you would care about).

Last year I decided, for the first time in my life (am 58 now), to lease a car, thinking if I don't like the hybrid experience at least I have a definite date (summer 2016) when I'll have to get something else, but I was willing to try a hybrid and try a lease for a while to see what I thought of it.  Now, I'm not sure I'll ever go back to a non-hybrid (it would take something really tempting or much better technologically to get me to get a non-hybrid in the future).

Welcome to the Lincoln MKZ Club and Forum!

Thanks for posting your MKZ Hybrid experience.  I've never owned a Hybrid, but I've had the pleasure of driving them a few times around here in Dearborn and love them. I live and work locally, so a Hybrid would be perfect for me.

By the way, having worked for Shelby for many years, we have a great partner in Stillwater - KICKER
