justdgoodz
Good morning MKZ owners, I have a 2015 Lincoln MKZ with 19K miles. Sometime when I attempt a remote start, the starter spins for only a second. If I attempt a remote start immediately afterwards, the car will usually start. Is this a cause for concern? I would assume that if the issue is with the starter, I would experience this problem while manually starting the car, but I have not. I also have Forscan with OBD capabilities, so I can search for a particular DTC if anyone has suggestions.
Izzy3906
My suggestion is if your MKZ still has warranty take it to the dealer. I also doubt that the starter is going bad if it turns on with no problems manually, so either the fob is trowing a bad signal the first time or the MKZ is not receiving it the way it should on the first try. justdgoodz
Just curious did you ever get the problem fixed. I took the MKZ to a Lincoln dealership up here, they said they wouldn't look at it since the problem wasn't constant. It would be hard for them to diagnose it. I assumed the error would be store in a memory chip somewhere on the car. SIDE NOTE: The Lincoln Experience Center up here in Frisco is really nice. Its not a dealership, so they dont push you to do anything but have fun with their products Edited October 12, 2017 by justdgoodz
