Greetings, fellow MKZ'ers.  I have a 2007 sage green MKZ. It's been a great car, except I am now starting to hear a pronounced scraping sound in the rear when I hit a bump or dip in the road. The technician told me that it's probably just a viscosity issue if it happens only when the weather is cold, usually in the mornings, and that there was nothing I could do about it. Very disappointing. Nevertheless, I'm considering getting a new MKZ because reliability has been so good and because I'd like to switch to a hybrid. My questions about the hybrid have to do with: how noisy is it compared with regular engines; does the 2.0 that comes with the hybrid have as good a pickup; is the 0-60 any different?  Basically, I'd just like to know what the main differences are between the hybrid and the regular engines.

Looking forward to learning more.

Welcome to the Lincoln MKZ Forum :)

I actually believe that the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is quieter then the standard MKZ.

Having driven Shelby GT500s for the past several years, I think that you'll find the 2.0L Hybrid engine to be powerful - you'll be pleasantly surprised as I was.  The best piece of advice is to ask your Lincoln dealer to let you test each one.

After reading this forum, and the http://www.FordFusionHybridForum.com, I've read a lot of good testimonials from MKZ-Hybrid owners.

My 2014 MKZ hybrid is very quiet. You'll find that there is Active Noise Cancellation to "mask" any hum from the hybrid motor. I consider the car to be responsive when I punch down on the gas pedal, but I sometimes wish that I'd bought the 2.0L Turbo. I, however, chose fuel enonomy over jack rabbit starts.

Greetings!

I just signed up as I am looking for any tips/tricks/etc as well as information. I have been eyeing a MKZ hybrid since 2013, and last Sunday I set an appointment for a test drive. I pretty much have pulled the trigger on buying one. I would appreciate any thoughts y'all might have.

Lincoln has 0% for 5 years so I am thinking of spending a little more. I drove the MKZ with technology group and 202a trim. It pretty much has everything, but I was thinking of the massage seat:-)

Anybody have thoughts on the seat as well as the panorama roof? The roof is pretty pricey and the opening isn't huge, but...

Thanx for any thoughts you might have. I expect to pick u[p the ride in March.

The pano-roof is pure fun! I was skeptical at first because I couldn't get the pano AND the power-rear sunshade - but I'm glad the car I got off the lot has the pano. It's simply the "trademark-option" on the MKZ. This option makes this car special - so go for it!

I can't comment on the massage-seats because I bought a MY2013. So if you are looking at a 2013 as well, you don't have to care about this feature because it won't be available - unfortunately.

When I got my MY13 shortly before Christmas, I had the choice between a loaded MY13 and a fully loaded MY14. Both cars were almost identically equipped - the MY14 had massage-seats and rear inflatable safety-belts. However, since it was a MY14 with less incentives, the leasing would have been a whopping $110/month more so I gladly went with the MY13.

BTW, If you get a MY13, don't forget to have the DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) enabled. While almost every MY14 has them enabled from the factory, the dealer can do the same on a MY13.
