Peternr1724
I have a 2014 lincoln mkz and the license plate light is off so my question is so do I replace the part where the light bulb goes into or just the light bulb I try opening it up but can't seem to open it and i don't want to break it
drolds1
Neither. As in the rest of your '14, the license plate lights are not bulbs, per se. They're LEDs. It's not quite as simple as just replacing a bulb. LEDs should last the life of the car but they do occasionally fail. Per the service manual: Possible Sources Wiring, terminals or connectors Headlamp assembly Rear lamp assembly BCM (body control module) Pinpoint test A15: Pinpoint test A16: This is why the owner's manual instructs you to see a dealer for this lamp outage.
