R2D2
My wife and I were heading up to Jacksonville FL Saturday mid-morning and I had no NAV service in the car. In fact my NAV screen had a red-x on the letters GPS indicating that there was no (not-enough) service. I also tried my smart phone and NAV services were down on it too. I google a few GPS type monitoring sites and none of them had any outage planned or reported....Am I nuts (well I know I am) :) http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/alerts-watches-and-warnings http://navigationservices.agi.com/SatelliteOutageCalendar/SOFCalendar.aspx Anyone else have that issue especially in the Southeast USA? drolds1
I had no GPS issues yesterday but thanks for the websites. ;) I did experience a brief outage a couple of weeks ago.
4N1M4L
gps "outage" The only one i remember wasn't an outage, but a military test of a jamming device. The gps signal is very week. Sometimes just being in a steep canyon can block it. A single sattelite outage should be invisible if it were to ever occur. A systemic gps outage shouldn't happen.
