Izzy3906
Nice replacement puddle lights! Did you get these from ebay? Are they direct replacements? Post link if you can They suppose to be direct replacement but they are a little taller. the driver side went in easy but the passenger side there is something inside the mirror that is preventing it from going all the way in. I still haven't figure it out yet. Here is the link. http://www.ebay.com/itm/322233883401?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Loki-MKZ
justdgoodz
Since you are the first one I seen actually replace these, I'm going to take a stab at the slightly more pricey ones. Since they are all from China, its probably all the same product. I will let you know my experience http://www.ebay.com/itm/262880223583 I'm looking into: 1) HUD (i.e Navdy) 2) a rear view mirror recording dash cam with built-in lcd. Do you have any experience with those on our car?

Izzy3906
Got the amp, capacitor, and the subs installed. It took me a while but finally finished. Very pleased with the outcome. justdgoodz
wpierre
Thanks for the post, I have been looking into this and wanted hear from someone who did buy it. Do you know how I could place just a custom logo instead, my puddles work just fine.

Very pleased with the outcome. image.jpeg Looks good! How is the sound? I was worried with tapping the factory subwoofer wire, I would be using a "post-processed" sound, which may not be as clean. I wonder if any of speakers (maybe rear door) are full-range. Where did your run your positive wire through the firewall of the engine compartment? Any detailed pics you took of the installation would be appreciated. If you didn't, no worries

No I wouldn't really know but the one with the logo has an led light compare to the OEM one that looks like it has a dull light bulb. So I think it wouldn't be as bright as the led. If you didn't, no worries Thanks, the sound is great for a BOSS system it really improved, I am loving it. I tap into the rear speakers with any issues, this is the link of what I used, http://www.ebay.com/itm/361312061535?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT. I attached some pics, the first one is where I connected the power cable. The second pic is the fuse holder which is zipped tied close to the battery. The third pic is where the hole was drilled in the firewall passenger side of the vehicle. The forth pic is inside the cabin underneath the glove compartment, that is were the power cable is coming through as you can see a piece of it which is orange. I tuck it in through the side and went up under the rear seat like in the fifth pic. For the remote cable I took the radio dash apart and located a wire on the radio that when you power the vehicle on it has 12V and when you shut down the vehicle it has 0V. I tap in to that wire and connected it to a switch in pic sixth and from the switch all the way to the rear. With the switch I can turn the amp off if I am with the family to hear normal sound from the radio. Any Question fill free to let me know. dfstv
Looks great! I think my next little modification to my Lincoln will be those puddle lights with the logo! Do they fit flush into the mirror or do they stick out a lot since they are a little bit taller (as you mentioned)?

Do they fit flush into the mirror or do they stick out a lot since they are a little bit taller (as you mentioned)? Thanks dfstv, it is flush on the driver side but on the passenger side there is a peace of plastic inside the mirror preventing it from going all the way in. I might have to see if I can grind it a little to see but I would have to check what grinder can I fit through that hole.

justdgoodz
Izzy, I finally received the puddle lights. When I am taking out the existing ones, using a flat head on the tab, they always get caught on one side. I dont want to force it out. Any suggestions?
