Sightings

Yesterday during the course of driving around I saw 4 other 2017 MKZs aside from my own! A Midnight Sapphire Blue Reserve with the new Magnetic-painted wheels (looked great!), a Black Velvet Reserve (standard 19-inch wheels), and 2 Ingot Silver Reserves, one of each of the 19-inch wheel styles.

Of course I gave the friendly toot of the horn and the wave to each of them. Glad to see them catching on here on LI NY!

Good deal

I had a similar experience. During my long trip to Florida from Nebraska last month, I would say I saw at least 30 2017's. And those were just on the interstate goin the opposite direction. I only remember seeing one goin my way. The funny part is that probably 25 of those were just goin from Orlando to Miami Beach. I don't remember seeing many if any on the way back. I also saw about 3 Continental's. I would think it was MKZ but it got closer and I saw the body and realized it wasn't, lol.

They were mostly blue and silver. I did surprisingly get to see mine (Black, Reserve, optional Rims) drive right past me as I was crossing the street walkin to the Amway Center ;-)

I think I've seen maybe 3 total on the road since I started driving mine at the beginning of this year. Still not very popular around here, but the Lincoln dealerships are small (the 2 within 30 miles of me are both ford dealerships with small Lincoln sections). But I see dozens of ford fusions weekly :)

  • 2 weeks later...

There are tons around me (well relatively) not nearly as many as there are FCA product (auburn hills, what can you expect). But so far I am only 1 of two driver package cars I have seen in 10 months of ownership

Just seen one 2017 that is Ruby Red Metallic, 2.0T engine, but has at least Luxury Package applied to it (LED headlights). Most others are 2016 or lesser year models.

Seeing modern MKZs where I live is pretty rare. Most of the older folks still hang onto their Mercury vehicles.

Going to make a trip up to Michigan though, which I know they'll pop out a lot more along with the Fusions.

My wife and I have seen a half dozen each of 2017 MKZ's and Continentals around Chicago's northern suburbs - however half the Continentals had dealer plates.

Of the pre-17's, I would say about 1/3 have the 3.7 V6.  A much lower percentage on used car websites show the 3.7, possibly because there is a wave of off-lease 2.0 models.

EDIT: Followed a white '17 MKZ (with private plates) into Ace Hardware. It needed a wash, so the owner has been putting on some miles.
