JeffASfBay
Airflow, any plans to run your Z down the quarter mile to see what it will do? I would love to see someone with a tuned Z do it. I ran a 13.0 with my Continental in about the worst conditions imaginable. That was with a very mild tune. We have tweaked on it a bit more since then. It ran 13.56 when stock. Livernois has no tune for the Conti so I am working with someone else. It is too bad Livernois doesn't get more 3.0 MKZs in their shop so they can refine their tune a bit more. That was a huge advantage with the 3.5 ecoboost. They have continually refined their tunes for it. Hi, I'm new here, but I used to drag race in the 70's some. What was your trap speed? If I remember from that far back, trap speed is the best indicator of horsepower. I have another question - I live in California and we don't have 93 octane gas. I would love to know what sort of hp and torque to expect on 91 octane. If anyone has any clues (from personal experience or something you read), please speak up. I don't think there's any absolute figures published for 91 octane fuel. From what I've read, the 400hp version of the 3.0 develops about 380hp on regular fuel. So I guess you can more or less extrapolate from that. It's probably not enough of a difference to feel with the "butt dyno."
JeffASfBay
Well, if it's only a 20 hp loss, you're right, I doubt I could feel it. Love that term "butt dyno" :-) Thanks for the info.
Airflow
Jeff - you should definitely get the 3.0 AWD. Hrlinc on here ran a 13.0 at 107 completely stock on all seasons. A tune puts it into the 12s. 91 octane won’t make a huge difference. JeffASfBay
JeffASfBay
I would like to, that's for sure. I've got to find a low-mileage used one in my area. There are plenty of 2.0T's, and even a few 3.0T AWD's but I also absolutely *must* have adaptive cruise control, which really ought not to be an option on this car - for cyrin' out loud, a 2017 Corolla has it (albeit not down to 0 mph, which drives me crazy)! FunktasticLucky
I'm curious if anyone has contacted livernois doing an E40 tune for these cars. I can't get 93 octane here. But I can get E85 everywhere. So a 50/50 mix of 91 and E85 should be pretty decent.
