colinsz
I usually charge the battery thru an interior cigarette lighter outlet using my Ctek but found that after a short time the outlets shuts down. I find that method much more convenient than lifting the hood and charging the battery directly since I 'top up' the battery regularly. I haven't been thru the owner's manual yet for specifics but suspect that this is the norm now. Anyone do regular charging and found a solution? Coming home from picking up the car, the driver's side window was binding and kept reversing. Tried it later and was ok. Am suspecting it needs adjustment. Key fob button to release key stuck in due to binding. Have it release now but shelved it in favour of other fob. (nit picking aren't I lol) Everything else seemed to run smoothly and well. Love the ride tho a little softer than the Taurus (completely expected that).....Having a lot of fun with all the Sync options and settup. ONce past the initial issues I'm quite happy. C. brucelinc
Just curious....why the battery charging? I realize it gets cold in your part of the world but does the car sit for long periods of time?
Zalvern
I use a CTEK 7002 charger and have the quick connector that was included connected to the positive battery terminal and the negative goes onto a grounding point. The 2017 is nice because it has "stud points" for anything you want to connect for using/charging battery power. The positive stud point is on the positive battery terminal connector itself, and the negative is a ground point is the Black/Purple wire that grounds right next to the battery (above the fuse box). This will also keep the BMS (Battery Management System) correct in monitoring charge levels. You do not want to connect anything to the battery's negative terminal directly. colinsz

I'll get used to it again. It's most convenient to use the cigarette lighter attachment inside the car but a connector, extension, and weatherproof quick connect to the grill area should work just fine all available from Ctek and ebay. I'm guessing that Ford pushed the battery back under the cowl to make it difficult to get to the negative battery terminal for the reason you stated. There are many grounding points anyway and I use the same one with the purple stripe just next to the battery. Handiest. Love the long studs at the positive terminal and handy negative ground right next to it. I also have the 7002 which is a little more heavy duty along with the . Have several of the 3300 models, a ctek Multi us4.3 for testing also if I wish, and the one Chevy includes if you choose the Battery Charger option for the Corvette. (which tends to drain down fairly quickly). You certainly don't need to charge as often as I do but it's something I do to keep the battery in top condition for longevity and is safe now with the advent of 'smart chargers' -- such as the Ctek. I always park in the garage and was in the habit of plugging in the Ctek charger into the SHO's handy live outlets most times I parked. Some would say it's quirky but I like doing it and feel it is somewhat beneficial. Brucelinc yes it gets cold here compared to some southern states but not that bad compared to north of here and west........It usually stays within a few degrees of freezing with the odd spell of Arctic air which can take it down to -15 to -20F for a few days but that's rare and we had no days that cold this year and not much snow either. I see that Ford included a block heater in my car but I'll probably never use it. Folks up north of here and out west on the prairies have 2 block heaters and have them plugged in every day. Not severe enough here to affect the car battery very adversely but I just like keeping it 'topped up'. I'm just across lake Erie from Ohio so much the same neck of the woods as many of you. The window btw seems to be ok today so I'll see what develops there. Thanks fellas. C. Edited March 18, 2017 by colinsz
houtex
I had problems with my front passenger window. Whenever it reverses it is because it gets slightly misaligned. Just like a garage door, when it thinks it encounters an obstacle, it reverses direction. When misaligned, this is what happens. Mine has corrected itself. Had dealer look at it and they could not make it happen. Hopefully it won't become a chronic issue. colinsz

That sounds hopeful for my issue which hasn't done it since picking it up. tnx
