Hiya

Nice forum(s) - I'm reading all of your comments about the 2017 MKZ with great interest.

I'm a Brit living in France and I've just ordered a 2017 MKZ (Select spec was all I could afford, with shipping, duties etc.) - it's leaving the USA today - I should have it in 4-5 weeks.

:)

Welcome! :welcome: We're glad to have you here.  You're going to be the talk of the town!  It'll be interesting to hear from you and compare notes.

Who will service your car in France?  A Ford dealer?  AFAIK, there aren't any Lincoln dealers there.

Thanks for the welcome.

Yeah, I actually checked with a big Ford dealership first, to make sure they could service/do any diagnostics. :)

Wow! You will be driving a SUPER-unique car there!

What colors did you choose and which engine and options?

If I'm not wrong you call sedans "saloons", correct? :):)

Congratulations and Good Luck!

Thank you.

To get one on a boat right away (I had a cheap(ish) 'place' available in a container coming to the UK) - and to get a killer deal on (US) purchase price I had to take a 2.0l 'Select' FWD - I'd have loved the new 3.0l (in Reserve spec) - but the US dealer made me an offer I couldn't refuse - when I add shipping, import duties and VAT (sales tax) it is gonna work out a lot more expensive than you guys buying 'at home' - but I just want the new 2017 so bad.

Also the Ford garages in the UK and France are familiar with the 2.0l ecoboost motors - they're in a lot of european Fords.

I'll register it in the UK - as registering a new (non EU) car in France can be a bit of a saga.

Thanks again for the warm welcome guys. :)

  • 4 weeks later...

I now have my 2017 MKZ and love it. :)

I have one thing I can't seem to figure out though - 'Mykey volume is limited'?

The volume on my stereo (I was listening to FM radio) is 'limited' for some reason (only goes up as far as 14 - I realise this is just a number) - it went ay louder when I first drove it, but something has changed and I can't for the life of me figure it out.

Any ideas please guys?

Thanks in advance. :)

Congrats on the car's arrival safe and sound we hope. Great isn't it -- I've now had mine for a week and love it too.

Don't know a lot about 'My Key' -- haven't played with it yet but doesn't it limit volume when activated to help limit the driver's distraction?

Enjoy that bad boy.......it's a beauty.

Colin.
