brentonm74
I have a 2017 AWD 3.0T MKZ.It has about 7k miles.Only thing that sucks is gas usage.I usually fill up this car at almost empty just to see what it'll hold.Dealership and I differ on this tank size because I worked with this car at Ford and it has a 18.5 gallon tank.Either way, if I fill it up, I only get about 270-300 miles on a tank.Seems really low.Im averaging 18-21 mpg daily. It just doesn't add up.Im taking a poll and seeing those with the same car, what are you getting range wise and mpg wise. I have roughly 4,300 miles on my 3.0T since July. My (actual calculated - not the estimate on the dash) lifetime MPG on this car is 22.17. My two high tanks were 28.86 (404 miles/13.987 Gal on this fill-up) and 27.63 MPG (459 miles/16.606 gal on this fill-up) - with almost 100% high speed interstate driving on a trip. On an 18 gallon tank, I ran much closer to empty on that last tank than I like, but I was on a pretty desolate stretch of highway when the warning went off! On local driving, if I drive like a normal person - my tanks tend to run around 21-22 MPG. If I drive aggressively,, my tanks drop to the 18-19 MPG range. My prior MKZ was a 2013 MKZh. While I do miss my 41.08 lifetime MPG on that car, driving the 3.0T is a whole lot more fun! :)
brentonm74
Yea.My driving is pretty moderate.I drive 25 miles total round-trip to work and back home.About 15% highway miles. You get slightly better being FWD too.I got 360 miles dte when i first got my car.Down hill ever sense.I constantly check my flt level in engineering mode thinking something is off.Nope, iys about right. My 2.0t got about the same mpg as this car. I agree I love the 3.0T.I can't wait to track in a few months.
Airflow
EPA is 17/26, 20 combined. So your mileage sounds pretty normal to me.
brentonm74
@airflow yes.its pretty much in line. Its just never consistent between fillups.Sometimes I only get 250 miles on a tank.
schteve
Sounds about right on par with mine. I am at 11k and when on my trip out west I would fill up and with all highway driving it would calculate between 311 and 323 and normal daily driving it calculates between 277 and 283 at fill up
Myron D. Brown
Whew...so glad I got the hybrid. I've got 9,200 miles on mine and I'm averaging about 530-535 miles per fillup. Robert Iggy Cerami and DeeCee
newlinux
I've still only got a few fillups - but I'm getting around 16 miles per gallon, almost all city driving so far...
houtex
I am on my first tank. 350 miles so far. Getting 24 MPG. DTE about 30 miles My commute is about 21 miles each way, mostly highway with some traffic at times. Coming from a Fusion Hybrid, I was a little scared of the mileage, but I am happy with what I am getting.
houtex
I just did my first full fillup. I got 405 miles on the tank. DTE was zero when I left the house this morning to go to Costco.Drove five or six miles to Costco. Ended up putting 18.1 gallons in the tank. With my prior vehicles, I was used to being able to go another 40 or 50 miles after DTE reaches zero. Seems like the MKZ really means it when DTE is zero KenZ
