justme
I am looking to purchase an MKZ Hybrid with one of the large (not standard) panoramic roofs. Does anyone have any input/comment good, bad or otherwise on this option? It seems like a nice option but am not sure of wind noise or visibility or... Thanks! Myron D. Brown
I am looking to purchase an MKZ Hybrid with one of the large (not standard) panoramic roofs. Does anyone have any input/comment good, bad or otherwise on this option? It seems like a nice option but am not sure of wind noise or visibility or... Thanks! Of course, watch this, if you already haven't: For me, I don't think I'd enjoy my MKZ as much without the panoramic roof. Even when you don't open the roof itself, but retract the shade...being able to see all that open sky above you makes the cabin open up in an amazing way. It looks and feels more spacious and inviting. Pretty much the only time I have mine closed is when I'm parked outside in hot temperatures...to keep the inside from getting TOO hot before I'm back. As far as noise, you'll have to test drive one and judge for yourself; everyone's level of tolerance is different. As for me, I'm almost always playing music. I have the 20-speaker Revel Ultima Audio system, so it overpowers the wind noise anyway. But this is a good happy medium for those who want a little more than moon roof, but a little less than a convertible. RAB
8smitty
The panoramic roof was one of the selling pints for us...I lived them when I first saw them at the auto show in 2013....if that wasn't a deal breaker for me I would have settled for a fusion but the 3.7 engine and roof were just to ice to pass up
dwonder
I'm definitely glad I got it on my 2017 though I knew going in that would mainly only use it for having the shade back, not the roof itself. I don't like all the extra noise tho it isn't that loud but this is comin from a person who hardly ever drives with the windows down, lol. I would rather have air blowing from the fan. Definitely worth it even if for the shade like Myron said
