brentonm74
Finally got my new 2017 MKZ.It was a tough chose between the Continental or MKZ but MKZ is a sex you car and this is my third one since 2008. I'm going to do something with the exhaust to give it some tone.Any suggestions?
shortspark
Is it awd or fwd? Do you have the driver's package? What trim? Let us know all the details and your impressions after you drive it a few days. Congratulations on your new ride and I hope you enjoy every minute in it. Zalvern
Congrats on your new Z! Personally, I'm not going to mess with the exhaust on mine. I plan to tune it, but I want it to stay focused on being quiet. yet become sleeper powerful. But in your case, perhaps start by changing the muffler type. Not the most savvy in exhaust building though, so can't say if things like going to true duals (separating the mufflers) or not would be worthwhile. If I find reason to improve the exhaust, I'll still want to use stealthy parts in the system that improve flow but not any sound. I think for once, it's awesome as a quiet vehicle yet clearly powerful in its own right.

I got the AWD White with Grey interior.I work for Ford and I have driven this car and the 2.7 Fusion for over a year but I feel in live with the MKZ all over again.I didn't get the driver package it wasn't in my area.I have some pictures of the exterior changes I've made.I don't think I'll do much more. Are you getting a Z?

I would recommend Revel 1 System in the Reserve. Its not the Ultima but if you like a nice sound without paying a lot of cash it's plenty loud enough. Also working with this car AWD will give you the 400hp with 93 octane. The FWD is reduced 50 hp.Lots of torque steer. It's a great car so I know you'll enjoy.Im torn as far as exhaust.im really on the fence.I want to be the "sleeper" also.I just wish it had slight more tone when you step on it.Its a powerful beast and needs a growl. When you get yours you'll see what I'm talking about. We ran D544 3.0T with some exhaust mods and it had a nice tone when driving. So I'll have to see.check out my pictures under new photo gallery. BizzyGeek
Hey all, after swearing off domestic vehicles for years, I decided to give this car a shot and so far so good. I pretty much topped out the options list, would've gone BL but I can't have the inflatable seatbelts. I've got a ton of questions about things I'm thinking of doing with it he cat, but I'll spend a few days lurking first. BG

Drwilsc
Hi all. I got my MKZ 3.0T AWD Reserve 2 weeks ago. Loving it. Definitely sleeper material. Like it better, overall, than previous car (14 Cadillac ATS 3.6). Lincoln is faster and more comfortable. Ah I've been had mine. Even started improving it with some upgrades whivh have awakened even further performance (tires, fluids, and air filter for now). Will get a tuning done as well, since I'm not afraid of it and get a lot more enjoyment out of the vehicle. Its like how I find it more enjoyable to build my own PC than get one pre-built. Troubleshoot things and then optimize. Turns out way better than what the factory puts out.
shortspark
Once again, how long would a special build take to arrive and how much under sticker should you expect to pay for a Reserve?
BizzyGeek
I think the answer for every car I've ever investigated special ordering is 8-12 weeks. As to how much to pay? Honesty, I'd run your custom build through Edmunds and then you email every dealer within 100 miles and offer them $100 over invoice, including their dealer fee and your customer cash. Run your request through Edmunds Price Promise and TrueCar. You may not get any decent offers from either but it's worth a shot. If dealer insists on negotiating before the dealer fee, insist on negotiating before the customer cash. The two should almost net out to zero. Some dealers will respond and say no, some will counter, and perhaps some will just ignore you. But maybe one will say yes. With as much dealer cash as they get, you should be demanding a fantastic deal.

dwonder
Once again, how long would a special build take to arrive and how much under sticker should you expect to pay for a Reserve? Ordered mine June 6th and delivered / picked up August 29. It took 3 months to the day. About a month longer than I was hoping, lol
shortspark
Well, it looks like what they say is true - eight to twelve weeks.
