ponyboy
Has anyone tried badge removal? Taking off the letters and whatnot from the trunk lid is what I am referring to if you aren't familiar with the term. I've been reading about online (not specific to MKZ) and it says some badges have studs in the back that go into drilled holes other just adhesive tape/glue. Advice? drolds1
Welcome to the MKZ forum. The letters are attached with adhesive tape so those can be removed with heat and dental floss or monofilament fishing line. IDK how the Lincoln star is attached but if you remove the trunk lining you'll probably be able to see if studs are used on that part. BTW, I realize that you're new here but please don't double post.
ponyboy
Cool, thanks for the tip. Yea my bad about that, i thought it categorized by your tag and didn't realize you needed to be in that section when you were posting.
SteveB_TX
Welcome to the forum! I am pretty sure the MKZ emblems don't have alignment posts, but don't quote me on that!
FTBoomer
Dental Floss and a hair dryer. Heat (lightly, don't melt them) the letters and then put the dental floss behind the letters and "saw" and lightly pull while moving the dental floss down the back of the letter. Then just polish and wax and you have a clean lid

ERock
I know this thread is kinda dead... but hoping to get some ideas. Anyone removed these dealer stickers before (screenshot attached)? It's not vinyl, and it's not a bumper sticker. It's thicker and almost plastic-ish. I was going to try goof-off but then I'd have to re-wax the car as it will strip off absolutely everything it touches.
Izzy3906
I use Goo-Gone on all the vehicles I've had with dealer badges. Then pull them out slowly.
MediumWilly22
I very carefully slide a razor blade under them then pinch with my thumb and pull. A hot day in the sun helps, or a hair dryer. Mother's cleaner wax will remove any residue. I would not recommend solvents.
