Badge Removal

Has anyone tried badge removal? Taking off the letters and whatnot from the trunk lid is what I am referring to if you aren't familiar with the term. I've been reading about online (not specific to MKZ) and it says some badges have studs in the back that go into drilled holes other just adhesive tape/glue. Advice?

I am pretty sure the MKZ doesn't have studs in the badges in the back. I have done badge removal on my current car and the best way to do it is to use a heat gun (or blow dryer) to heat up the underlying glue and dental floss to get in between the badge and the trunk lid. After you have removed the badges, you should use an adhesive remover to remove the glue residue from the trunk lid. "Goo-gone" is your best bet.

These tips are what we've essentially done at Shelby to remove tens of thousands of logos.  Not sure if the 2008s have pins or not though?
