Cooled Seats

Can someone tell me if the cooled seats on the MKZ are cooled by air conditioning or simply a recirculation of air in the cabin?  I've heard some car makers do not really create a cooling of the seat, they just blow air.  Thanks for any input because I live in Texas and it is HOT half of the year!

Probably not the air conditioner because I believe you can use it even if the air conditioning is not on.

The air coming out is really cool. It only takes a few minutes to really cool down.  I'm sure someone else knows all the technical details.

It is a heat exchanger type of thermo dynamic, piezo-electric, thing-a-ma-widget magical device.  Or something like that. :)  It's in the Owners Guide, but I can't remember exactly where.

I use my seat air conditioning every day during the summer months here in North Texas.  My butt stays nice and cool!  :)

There was an existing thread on this question.  See here.  It's a  good idea to use the Search function before posting a question so that we don't have duplicate threads.

That's pretty impressive for the MKZ. Most cars in this price range have "ventilated" seats not actual cooled seats, if they have anything at all.
