rimrocks
Hello, I am new to this forum having just purchased a 2007 MKZ. I know it is nine years old but we love the car so far and I chose it over the newer model because I like the styling better. But that is just me. Twice now I have gotten up in the morning to find the front windows have lowered with no command from either key pod. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know of the cause and the repair. Thank you!
Rusty Boltz
Is it possible that your "unlock" button on your key was accidentally depressed for 5 seconds? The feature opens the front windows and sunroof (if equipped), to ventilate the vehicle. It happened to me while the key was in my pocket. rimrocks
rimrocks
I do not think the unlock button was held down for that period of time accidentally. This has happened twice and it was after the keys were stored for the evening. I have no idea when the windows rolled down. I am trying to diagnose whether it is a key pod issue or a vehicle issue. Thank you for your response!
drolds1
If you're sure that no buttons were pressed for 2 seconds, then have a dealer disable the global open feature per TSB 08-13-08: TSB 08-13-08 (Power Window Global Open Feature)LINCOLN: 2006 Zephyr2007-2008 MKZISSUE:Some 2006 Zephyr and 2007-2008 MKZ customers may perceive problems with the global open system which may include: system operates erratically, false operation, both front windows open intermittently or the roof opening panel (if equipped) opens intermittently. When normal diagnostics do not identify a concern with the operation of the system, customers may request that the global open be disabled. This information is provided so customers who request the change may have the function turned off at their expense.
