good one! I give up too, im still tryin to come up with a good punch line....... ha h

Thanks for being a good sport.

I'm not familiar with the 2010 models. But could it be something to do with the filters, the wiring, connections? Since it is a full failure it should be easy for a technician to diagnose.

Both sides aren't cooling?  That's a little unusual since each seat has its own module.  There must be a communication problem between the seat modules and the climate control module.  A dealer has the equipment to scan for diagnostic codes.

I wanna say thanks for the help guys, you mentioned scanning for codes, im assuming those aren't the same codes you would get from a obd scanner like at autozone cuz that seems to easy, probably more like a service tech at a dealer, like you said previously?

Thanks again guys

Right.  A regular OBD scanner can't tell you anything in this instance.

You do not have to A/C on to operate the cooled seats.  They work independently.  Each seat has its own climate control module which operates a thermoelectric device (TED), also known as a Peltier device.  In fact, DOE tests concluded that MPG could be boosted by drivers using the cooled seats without engaging the A/C.  I can attest to that.  On marginally warm days, I've used the cooled seats independent of the A/C.  I had a 2010 MKZ and was able to do this.

Maybe what you're feeling is cooled air from the cabin being blown through the seat by the seat fans running.

I confirmed today just what you mentioned, so that being said I'm able to cool the seats even more with the ac ON? Or no? Edited by willy j
